Will Assyrians ever have a country of their own?

Domanic said:
Or will we have to do like how the Jews did when they got Israel back or re product like rabbits until we have a bigger population?

Yes, we just need to stop making 100 political parties every year and have one single party for one single purpose.....

We have other 16 political parties and they barely differ in ideology.....

We also need to stop thinking in terms of the Millet System and Tribalism, that's what's killing our unity most of all compared to have 1,000+ political parties......

Nope, we will never get our country...

Forget about it.....

How come Armenians got there own country?! and how come Kurds didn't when there is 40 million kurds?!
Because there wasn't 40 million Kurds or 5 million Assyrians during the 1920s.......

Armenia was only created at the request of Woodrow Wilson.

Domanic said:
True... There was only a million before the genocide.

How come Assyrians didn't ask anyone or Woodrow Wilson for a country?
Simple, we aren't united and we STILL aren't united today.

We have churches fighting as our identity (chaldean, aramean/syriac bullshizz).
We have morons who give their allegiance to their tribe or country of origin instead of being Assyrian...
and lastly, we have too many political parties and backstabbers being selfish for their own gains.....

I'm 100% sure that the Jews HAD problems like we do now, but they were able to overcome them somehow....

If you notice, most of the problems that I stated above were formed by the older generation who grew up in the 50s to 70s.....

Our problems can be fixed by having a smarter, more educated newer generation who do NOT share the older generations views of tribalism, church over nation, and backstabbing others....

I remember an American Jewish man telling me "Assyrians are a good people, but they are full of empty nationalism".....

Empty nationalism meaning we talk the talk, but not walk said talk....

Honestly, even I'm guilty of that as well. I want to help my people but I'm afraid I do not know how and I don't think I have the resources to help out my niggas (lol).

Aramean*

and yes they do.

There are actual Arameans that exist but they definitely do NOT speak Turoyo dialect, they speak the Western Aramaic dialect which we can't understand at all.

If a real Aramean tried to talk, in aramaic, to an "Aramean"-Assyrian, the Assyrian wouldn't understand ikhreh.

Oh, i wish we had our own country.

I heard in the news that the kurdish are trying to get a independent state fro turkey but i doubt it will work out in the end even if 11 million out of 75 million are kurds according to Wikipedia.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kurdish_people

Domanic, you need to understand that most Kurds have good rep and good history with Assyrians...

I'd put the number that a good 70-80% of the Kurds have been good with Assyrians.

We need to focus our anger on the 30-20% that have committed and continue to commit crimes against Assyrians, because they plot to divide us, take our land, threaten us with death, murder us.

Considering the numbers of the Kurdish population and the amount of Kurdish against Assyrian wrongdoings, you'll see that there are a minority of Kurds who are committing crimes, another thing is that these criminal Kurds also use religion as an excuse to commit crimes against Assyrians.

Now that I've told you that. Before Assyrians can have a country, we first need to unite. Unite meaning unite under one ethnic name regardless of religious denomination, religion, and tribe.

Then we should try to establish an autonomous area, like the U.S. did for the Kurds, so that we can develop our own sense of culture, language, and nation.

While we're at the autonomous stage, we should start a program that helps Assyrians from the West move back and use their western education to help out the autonomous region. Eventually we can achieve independence.

I haven't heard that much news of the Kurds doing anything negative to the Assyrian.

Only The Turks and Sunni Arabs i heard about.

Because Turks and Sunni Arabs don't want us to gain power. Imagine if an Assyrian was placed as Prime Minister instead of Maliki, Iraq would've been on a fast track to stability and modernization....

This is why we need to vote for just one party.

We don't need one party but we need parties that work WITH each other....

Take Israel for example. Israel has alot of political parties, but they all work together for the preservation of the state.

Assyrians are not doing that or at least trying but "foreign influence" is getting in the way.....

Even Kurds themselves have a ton of political parties, but some of them work together. A good example is the PKK who works with the PUK and PYD.......

lol, true because people call themselves..

Assyrian
Syriac
Chaldean
Armenian
Babylonian
that comes from Assyrian (which you obviously know is a bastardiation by the fucking greeks ) but we from tur'abdin been called that for 2300 years...

We don't have a chance if we don't have the balls to return from our comfortable lives in the diaspora to our ancestral land. What happened to the +1 million Assyrians that left Iraq since 2003? Image how our situation would have been today if we were 1 million more.

Thomator, the only way to do that is to replace religiousness with nationalism and our people aren't doing that...

The older generations still keep brainwashing us with this "be a good Christian" crap when we should have nationalism and a love for country.

I agree. Our future is in the hands of the new generation. We have to become more active in politics in the diaspora, we have a big diaspora and we should be able to have a bigger influence (in countries like the US, Australia and Sweden).

Our diaspora isn't helping that much, there should be more Assyrians back in homeland, not back out of homeland....

What's the point in trying to fight for our homeland when nobody is living on it but Kurds and Arabs who recall Assyrians moving away from the land they're living on now?

What's stopping you from moving there?

We need to be like muslims, go and have kids and one day we will be the majority in some areas.

We already do you dork, how else did the Assyrian population rise from 300,000+ in 1940s to 4-6m today?

Assyrians are having as much kids as Arabs and Kurds, the only difference is that they already had a larger population so multiplying with larger numbers gives larger numbers...

What we need is a really large concentrated population. Lets say 3 million in Dohuk governate in Iraq. After we outnumber kurds there, we go for a referendum, and make the international community support us like they did in south sudan and kosovo. Lowkey thats a good idea.

Implying Massoud Barzani won't realize we are piling into a single location...

Why do you think he allowed daash into the Nineveh plains?

the Syriac word for daash is ikhreh.

But all non-joking aside, the Syriac word for Da'ash is Mashlmaneh GAyyaseen d-'Iraq o-Suria so MG'AS. It translates to Bandit Muslims of Iraq and Syria

I honestly highly doubt it, since so many of us are moving out from our homeland in a rapid rate.

The thing is, we're mostly moving out from there.

moving back is very possible. A few brave and educated Assyrians have to make the return trip and help improve the conditions so other Assyrians can come back as well. It would also help if the Assyrians who went back used the internet to show about the land and the progress they're making!

Obviously, every Assyrian who moves back I advise get guns. Get pistols and always conceal carry.

In my idea of Assyria, every Assyrian has to have a gun in their household and a gun on their person. Imagine how f***ed Da'esh would've been if EVERY household in the Nineveh Plains was armed.

It's most likely we'll have to make a law about staying armed.
