Camp, we were/are caucasion, you can check up on the net if you like, but I'll give you a brief. You are correct in saying that we didn't come from these places, Scandinavians are Nordic, they were caucasion in their entirety, bearing blonde or red features. Europeans however were generally Germanic in origin, hence the introduction of caucasions with darker features. Assyrians did not have to derive from any one of these races, we were semitic:

I believe caucasians stem from Armenia to Russia. I don't think in no way, shape or form are we caucasian. We may have mixed with them, but are not them. How did we derive from caucasians? I need more definitive proof. by the way, read this

Oo fallen i didnt mean we should have our own category. why should we exhalt ourselves to that sort of step? we are what we are. we are genetically related to jews, palestinians, turks, kurds, and chaldeans. we are semitic, but who on earth on this planet knows what semitic is? if on some application we put white, we aren't bettering nor lowering ourselves, we have to conform with what society thinks, even though we know the truth. i just think we're NOT caucasian. asian would be more correct, but then again asian would be seen as japanese, indian, chinese, etc etc.

Anybody asks me if I'm white, I say no. I'm Assyrian. And if it asks on a form somewhere, I'd write down Assyrian. I've done it before for a job interview.. it sparked conversation.. I got the job. Basically, I don't think we're white.

no one said we're "white." i do as you say eddie brock, i tell people i am assyrian. they respond emphatically with "your sasrian or syrian." i give them this long look of disgust and proceed to give them a brief history lesson our people. we don't have a "middle eastern decent" category, we can't change ppl's perceptions. so we are stuck with "other, white, or asian." honestly, do we have a choice? it sucks, i would prefer it said middle easterner, but the world wants less confusion i guess.
Middle easterners along with North Africans and Indians are classified as Caucasian. Now this does not necessarily mean we are Anglo-Saxons (Scandinavians, Northern Europeans, etc.). We?re just one category of what is considered to be Caucasian. The reason being is that many genetic tests, bone measurements, brain sizes and physical features show that middle easterners are much more closely related to Europeans than they are to lets say, Asians or Africans. The word Caucasian simply means to have originated from the Caucasus Mountains, which are located between the Black and Caspian seas and include present-day southwest Russia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia.
Now you are probably asking, why are Latin Americans (who kind of look similar to middle easterners) provided with their own category yet a population as big as the Indian (a total of over one billion people) is not? And this is because Latinos are much less pure and indigenous than Indians, as they have intermixed with Native Americans and Africans throughout history.
I personally feel it?s somewhat unfair for us Middle easterners not to have an official category. The censuses need to recognize our uniqueness just as they recognize Asians because these days (believe it or not lol), it can be beneficial to be considered a minority in some ways. Besides, a lot of middle easterners encounter racism anyways and those idiots need to realize that we will never really be thought of as WHITE by the general public. I guess it?s another way for Europeans to claim their race to be one of the major ones.

chaldean is a religious title?not a race...chaldean people are Assyrian ..I don?t understand why people complain that they are Assyrian and they should call them selves Assyrian?which they are...yet...something like this comes up which totally contradicts what they say.

...There are so many things wrong with what people are saying so instead of writing up some huge explanation for everything I'll just say this: the continent you originate from has NOTHING to do with your race. We are not "Asian" by race; geographically-wise yes, but that's like a white person in Canada checking off "North American" on a race question. Europe and Asia are one continent (which is defined as a land mass bigger than an island) if you want to get technical. Other than that, educated people know what Semitic is, we differ quite a bit from Turks (who come from the Far East originally. We're closer to Europeans than true Turks) and a bunch of other stuff I'm too tired to point out right now...

If you are not black that means you are white, people who have colored eyes are not the only white people. some of us have dark skinn color cause of the sun, most of people who lived in north they have light skinn color, and people who lived in south they have dark skinn color, but that doesn't mean they are komeeh lol. If you don't want to be called white, then u can call urself brown or pink how about that lol.
middle easterners (syrianians, leabanese, jordanians, and the majority of iraqis--the arabs from saudi and gulf states are not considered caucasian) are considered to be caucasian---
therefore assyrian too would be considered caucasians
so if you want to say white you can

They can consider us whatever they want, but we are SEMITES from MESOPOTAMIA! Assyrian/Chadeans, Jews and Arabs are all from the same family! Were all Semites! We might have different religion or whatever and some of us look different, but the majority of assyrians jews and arabs look the same!
