What language do you think in?

For those of you fluent in more than one language (obviously), what language do you find your thoughts to be in?  I think in English and cuss in Assyrian. Mentally cuss, that is.

both hehehe

Depends on what I'm thinking about. It's mostly in English though. My mental cuss words are usually in Assyrian and I'll spice it up with Arabic, Turkish, and Armenian cuss words.

Ditto.  Anger and fights are always in Assyrian.  It just sounds more....natural  :mrgreen:

Okay, cool. The reason I'm asking is because I was telling a friend of mine that eventhough I grew up in the U.S. I feel more Assyrian than American and she asked me what language I think in, because supposedly the language you think in shows which culture you're more a part of.  But I think in English though, and I feel more Assyrian...so I dunno if I agree with that.

Yup. Arguments are great in Assyrian. Whenever I argue in Assyrian I feel like the point I'm trying to make is that much more important  :lol:

Armenian, too? Nice!  I only mentally/verbally cuss in other languages when the object of my anger is a speaker of that language.  So since I've grown up in LA, I can cuss in Armenian and Spanish!  :mrgreen:

Greek, especially when it comes to maths. I solve the answer in Greek first than interpret it into English.

Hahahaha, isn't it fun? I love foreign cuss words, they sound so much more passionate than English words. Hahaha!

I hate that so much!! All of the older Assyrians assume we all know how to count in Arabic.

Well for me only in thinking bro, I would never say a number in Arabic around Assyrians.

Arabic numbers are easy if you know Assyrian numbers.

Seepar = Sifir
Kha = Wahid
Treh = Itnan
Thla = Tlata
Arpah = Arba'a
Khamsha = Hamseh
Ishta = Sitteh
Shawa = Sabah
Tmanya = Tmanya
Icha = Tissa
Isra = Isra
