What if....................?

Guys, here is something that everyone will find interesting and can contribute towards.

You ask the question: What if.......... and try to complete by putting something from history that happened and changed history or effected so many lives.

For example: "What if the bullet that hit Saddam in his leg, had instead hit him in the heart or head and killed him....?"
I am talking about a bullet that hit Saddam in the leg in the 60s, while protesting in the street.

What would that result in? it could have meant that Saddam would have died and would never go on to be a president. Of course, you could argue that another worse could have become the president, but we don't know for sure.

Here is a great one which I will never forget:

"What if I hadn't picked up the book "Learn FrontPage in 21 days....?"

Prior to getting that book, I didn't even know what "Web design" meant. After I read that book, I started designing websites, including this very one.

And even the book, I wasn't going to buy if it wasn't on a big sale, up to 80% off. If I hadn't bought that book chances aee, I would have never started this website.

And to make it even more amazing, I wasn't even planning on buying the book. My friend called me and said "let us go to this computer store, they have a lot of good deals..." one of which was the book I bought!

So had it not been for the deals, my friend would never have called me, and had it not been for my friend, I would have never known about the place and the book, and had it not been for the book, I wouldn't start getting interested in web design, and had it not been for my interest in web design, I would probably never have had started this website.

WOW HUH?

"what if our interview with the American embassy in Greece was one day earlier......"

In 1994, while in Greece, we had an interview with American embassy for Oct 15, which would have resulted most likely, in us (me and m family) getting a visa to the US, which is where we always wanted to go since most of my uncles and aunts are.

But our bad luck being what it is, on Oct 15, all rules changed, and virtually no one was able to get a visa to the US anymore. The change happened right on the day we were suposed to do our interview.

That one day change, made us change all our plans and to eventually land in Canada instead of going to the US.

So if our interview was one day earlier, I would never know what Toronto looks like, nor would I have ever lived here. I would be in San Jose, California now.

"What if British government had treated its colonial allies in the new America better.........?

Would that mean the colonists wouldn't rebel and eventually get indepenedence from the British?

We all know that the way the British was treating their colonial agents and allies in America and the new world, caused them to get frustrated and to start looking for ways to end this oppression. This culminated by their seperation from the mother coutry England and the creation of the United States....

Ashour, why ask yourself the fruitless question of "what if..". How about we ask ourselves, "what did we learn from..."? The "if's" will not change the future. The lessons we learn from those events play a major role in shaping the path laying ahead of us.... just a thought to dwell on. :rolleyes:
 
what if the lighthouse of alexandria wasn't burned down.... and all the ancient texts of the ancient scholars were all preserved... how different would things have been?
 
What if the russian revolution never happened.....?

I am always told that if that wouldn't have happened we would probably have the land Ashur back.....?

What if the British/Canadian military had actually won the war of 1812 and Canadia wouldn't be so dependent on everyone else? :mrgreen:

it has to meyers, but if incorrect my canadian neighbor, i do apologize. and it's not all about jim carrey, it's about his characters not the man himself lol.
 
what if guns were never invented....

u know how many people would still be living right now...

well.. i guess police officers need guns.. but they should be the only ones who are allowed to have them
