AssyrianPrince21 said:I dont see what the problem is with wat we have at the moment.... for the minority of assyrians there are in the world, I think we're doing a pretty damn good job of keeping up with assyrian singers...yes, it would be nice for ppl to buy more of their albums and yes it would be amazing to have more new singers...but u guys are comparing assyrians to arabic singers (which there is more of a population of ) ... its not fair....there is a fraction of assyrian speaking people to the amount of arabic speaking ppl...its retarded to even compare.
and as far as not having enough singers....heres a list of some popular ones.... which i think is pretty damnnn good...
Evin
Janan
Sargon
Linda
Juliana
Ashur
Johnny Talia
BulBul
Lazar Malko
Tony Gabriel
Gilyana Toma
Julie Yousif
Ramsen Sheeno
Ramiz
Talal Graish
Sargon Youkhana
Ninos David
Emmanouel Bet Younan
Lida Lawando
Shabeh Lawando
And yah...some are more popular than others....but thats everywhere..... I DOOO think we should have more new singers....but based on the amount of ppl that actually ARE assyrian and actually LISTEN to assyrian....i think we're doing okay.
And for those of you that say the younger generation doesnt listen to it ... ur wrong.... i can name a LOT of poepole under 21 that listen to assyrian music.....
Just my 2 cents... :wavetowel:

You seem to miss the point which is as a nation we have not created singers for over 30 years. From your list the top tier singers are in thier early 50's. The others are I consider second to third tier.
For over 30 years we have been listening to Evin, Linda, Jinan, Ashur and Sargon. We are in 2007 and these top 5 command the most money and get the most booking (except Ashur). Who from you list (Name me 5) you see can be the up and coming superstars.
Our music is frankly lifeless without new bloob to rejuvanate it.
Nasha how do you know???
we have good new singers
Are you into music to know??
...why? i am under 21 and LOVE Assyrian music..and know plenty of others who also do...i'm always looking for something new to listen to..there isn't enough haha. after reading all this really helped me though with those lists haha i'll definetely check em outAssyrianism said:Spot on.
If I do a survey I promise you 1 out of 10 Assyrian youths actually listens to Assyrian music.
And Ashurina I know you went off topic/venting but easy on the Assyrians from Iran we are not arrogant monsters.
