The dream for playing in Syria?s national team is being pursued by the Assyrian player Louay Chanko. One time Syrianska player is off with an injured foot and can is forced go home from the national team camp.
When opportunities to play for the Swedish national team vanished Louay ?Lolo? Chanko took the opportunity to play football for another national team ? in the country where he has his roots. He decided himself to leave Hammarby and went to Syria in order to try to play himself a place in the Syrian football national team.
But now he has to wait for the injured foot to heal. According to Swedish News Agency he has been forced to rehabilitation training for the entire week and then can train with a Syrian club if the foot holds.
But, I will not risk anything, Chanko says. When I came down I knew I was injured, I will be sensible and will play only when I am 100%, not 60, he says.
Chanko is not the only Assyrian player from S?dert?lja in the national team camp in Syria. Also Assyriska's middle Defense Elias Merkes is in the camp.
When will Iraq wake up since they don't even have one Assyrian player. Way to go Syria.
