Track my changes!

So being inspired by a report on CNN about some dude who weighed 300lbs and has since lost all his weight, I've decided to follow in his foot steps.

I don't weigh 300lbs just 206lbs, but I feel really unhealthy.

What he did to motivate him was to post a blog on his changes and his status. So I've done the same :) I'm hoping it will motivate me to change my lifestyle.

I don't necessarily want to lose weight. I just want to lose my body fat and to improve on my overall health.

If you want to keep up with my changes you can visit my blog at:

http://trackmychange.blogspot.com/

I will have questions that I will ask from time to time on that site and I'm hoping maybe some of you would be able to help me along with it.

Thanks guys! :yourock:

haha no...i'm at 190 right now but i'm gonna get on a cut soon.  The muscle is coming in great but the fat loss could use some work.  That doesn't mean i don't know the theory though :0

I've basically stayed the same weight but i've packed on muscle, which means i've lost weight but the muscle i've added has left me at the same number.  Anywho, numbers are deceptive...it doesn't measure how much muscle you have on you.  You could be a 210 and look lean as hell b/c your body fat is low and you have plenty of muscle.

Ya. I know that as well :)

Apparently at eXtreme Fitness I have a 37% body fat lol They're stupid. They weighed me at 182 when I specificially told them theres no way I'm that skinny. I'm 206. He was insisting that I was in fact 180. Anyway, I don't think I have 37% body fat but I know I have a lot.

My problem is mainly my diet. Not only do I eat bad foods, but I eat at bad times (ex 4am eating a large plate of Riza, Shourba, and boorak).

Anyway, give me your input. It would be nice :)

it really doesn't matter when you eat, within reason.  Just make sure you don't eat carbs (unless they are fibrous carbs like brocolli) before you sleep.  You can, on the other hand, eat a protein based meal before you sleep without any problems, given the circumstances that you don't go over your total caloric intake for the day.

Some other things to consider:
1.  hit the gym hard and do some intense weights and cardio (might want to look into fasted cardio sessions when you wake up).
2.  get on a protein based diet and cut out your simple carbs like sugars/junk food/etc.  A good macro could be 50% protein, 30% carbs, and 20% fats.  So if you were to use this example, you'd find your desired caloric intake, and implement those percentages.  Remember, 1 gram of protein/carbs = 4 calories, whereas 1 gram of fat = 9 calories.
3.  eat your carbs earlier in the day and slowly cut them towards the end.
4.  very important: eat 5-6 small meals a day as opposed to 3 big meals.  This will help with your metabolism.
5.  slowly lower your total caloric intake.  If you are currently eating 2500 calories a day, lower that by 250.  Don't get too drastic because your body might go into starvation mode and keep anything you eat as body fat.
6.  final point i can think of right now: do your research.  If you're serious about losing your weight, do some research on some fitness forums and see what others are doing and get tips from them.  I go to www.bodybuilding.com and the forums over there are really helpful since they have many sub-sections such as nutrition and losing body fat.

that's all i got for now...

Enki, it will also be nice to put your progress in your signature; in addition to your blog link.

Sounds good. But my goal is not to lose a lot of weight. I want to lose a lot of body fat and build muscle. I look like a cancer patient when I'm skinny. Its really gross (sorry if I've offended anyone who has a family member with cancer).

My goal is to maybe come down to 190-195 and to lose a lot of my body fat. It'll be tough but I hope I can do it.

My first order of business is to see my doctor on Monday for my physical. I haven't done one in 4 years so it'll be interesting to see what he says.

Everything will be posted on the blog :)

Enki but you have the height brother. I am 5.9 and I think you are at least 5.11?

Ashoor, I'm 6' aziza and thats why it doesn't show. But I dont want body fat. Its not good. Not for appearance. I could care less how I look (I already know I look amazing lol). Its more about long term health.

I don't want to be 50 with heart problems or some sort of ailment. I want to be a fit, healthy, and active 50-60-70 year old :)

Good luck, it's going to take time and a lot of hard work so don't get frustrated when you don't see results in a week.

Thanks. I tend to get frustrated pretty quickly and resort back to my large pepperoni pizza (yes I eat it all by myself in one sitting lol). Hopefully this will all change. I'm considering a detox with Bani's system. We'll see what happens. First things first, my physical!

LFMAOO!!! I swear Danny kills me!! I love that kid but I couldn't believe it when he said it! At first I thought it was a joke. I told him that as the sports coordinator, he has to come up with events. But I didn't think he would come up with this.

Anki.. goodluck!  :bigarmhug:
