The Assyrian Aid Society of Windsor Ontario orgainzed the first annual Ammo Bab Soccer Tournament in the City of Windsor. This was to coomerate the life of the great Assyrian soccer/football Legend Ammo Baba. Four teams participated in the tournament: Nineveh Star SC, Windsor AC Kings, Windsor Caputo & Detroit Kings.

Nineveh Star beat Detroit Kings in the finals by a score of 4-0 to win the cup. They beat beat Windsor Caputo by a score of 3-1 and tied Windsor AC Kings by a score of 0-0. There was a picnic held at the soccer grounds with many families attending.

This will be an annual event every second week of August in the city of Windsor. Many thanks to the Assyrian Aid Society for organizing this tournament.

That's awesome.  Plus there were no all-in brawls, making it 30% more successful than the Assyrian Cup in Sydney.

Or the Assyrian New Year Tournament in Vegas.  Which witnessed two brawls and a referee that got punched.

Great job Nineveh Star SC, you made us Assyrians and Toronto proud :)

How come we didn't even hear about this till the end? I will be posting about this on the home page.

A great victory!  Basma Ganokuhn kikhwa D' Ninweh!!!

Good Start.

At least the trophies are better than the small (lonnie look-a-like) medals our Toronto Winged Bull got for first place in this year's convention.

Hopefully ADM Windsor will let other teams know so it will be a real tournament, not just a get together picnic.
