Toronto to Trade Matt Sundin?

He has to agree, and doesn't look like he wants to leave.  The wings have made it clear that he can come here if he chooses to.  Time is running out though.

why would you not want to trade him? Hes a prime rent-a-player. trade him away for some draft pics and young players or prospects, have him win the cup and then resign with the leafs in the off season. Dont you want to see him with the cup?

Off course  i want to see him win the cup....but with leafs
:crybaby:
Sundin is a great player I doubt any Leaf fan want to see him go.... The problem is that the Leafs suck ( i cant believe im saying this lool)  and Sundin is a great way to start rebuilding by getting some good young talent.... The Leafs WILL get good value for him...well i hope so  :bangin:

every leaf fan wants to see him go.

I hope he goes along with every other Leaf with a no trade/no movement clause except for Kaberle.  I actually want him to stay.  If they can get a taker for Raycroft that'd be a bonus.

Alina i know it's hard to believe but yes our captain will be leaving by next week and it would be a very sad day for me but at the same time it be a start of a new era in toronto and hopefully something good for the future

so apparently sundin and fletcher met last night and discussed his future. Fletcher didnt ask him to waive it no trade just yet, but asked him what teams he would consider playing for. I really hope he goes to ottawa or montreal.

Why on earth would u want him to go to montreal ? i can see ottawa winning the cup and they have alot more to offer than montreal can and please don't tell me montreal has a chance at the cup

Can you guys imaging Sundin being traded, then Toronto miraculously makes the playoffs.

Then it happens that Toronto faces the team to which Sundin was traded! And imagine Toronto beating Sundin's team and going on to win the Stanley cup.

WOW, hope that doesn't happen, Sundin would die from depression shareh lol.

Anyway, I hope he gets traded to a team that has a good chance at winning it; one that will give us something good in return.

do you watch hockey? who does ottawa have to offer? they dont even have secondary scoring. montreal has way better young talent all over the ice. and they are 2 points from being first in the east.
Stop being a hater. you are always about leafs are the best ottawa sucks montreal sucks....open your eyes and look at the standings. montreal has been on a tear. Huet is better then emery and gerber combined and montreal doesnt rely on one line doing all the work. if they get sundin or hossa, they are a serious threat to come out of the east.

no benji i dont cause i dont have as much time on my hand to sit at home and watch hockey all f ucking day like you do and dont f uking tell me who to hate and not hate ..... seee unlike you i stay loyal to my team and i am not saying Ottawa is shit did i ? no i just think they are the better team than montreal and it has been proven this year so far because f ukingmontreal has not beatin ottawa yet when alfy and the grew have been playin.......... so stop f uking thinking you run the NHL and we can't say what we want about any NHL team..... and for your f uking information toronto is shit this year and even i know that so don't f uking tell me i don't know my team

first of all, i do run the NHL.

second of all, who gives a shit if montreal hasnt beaten ottawa yet? How many times did toronto beat ottawa in the playoffs after ottawa killed them during the season? That means nothing and you should know that as a hockey dan. you say you can see ottawa winning the cup, but montreal has no chance....go look at the standings. Montreal is 1 point behind ottawa, 2 points out of first in the east, have allowed less goals and have the best power play in the league. Plus they have more balanced scoring and better goaltending. So explain your reasoning there.

And who says you have to sit at home and watch hockey all day. I work all the time...im doing a 9 day stretch right now, but i can still watch highlights when i get home or check scores online. Like it or not, montreal is a serious contender right now.

I have looked at standing that could mean jack all when it comes to the playoffs just like you said... I don't like the team and i dont think this team has the experience to do any damage in the playoffs and if they meet not ottawa but even the pens and they will lose and don't be telling me that experience does not matter in the playoffs....

I have watched the leafs for years now and one of there number one rivary would be montreal and you want me to sit here and support a trade to see sundin go there ? I don't think so

thats what i am talking about. you get so personal. who cares where he goes as long as we get something good in return. And ya, experience is a key factor. but then you say the pens would beat montreal. How does that work?

i m a huge habs fan , and i must say even i am surprised at montreals success this year.  The young guys have developed really fast and are playing great team hockey and they believe in each other.

If they can add a sundin or a hossa..... i think they have a serious shot to come out of the east....

a part of me wants sundin cause he can really be effective this playoff run especially on faceoffs as well cause we're horrible at them right now, but my heart thinks hossa is a better fit in the long run ( he's younger ) if they can sign him beyond this year.

anyways.......it'll be a great playoff season this year.

More impressive to me has been the penguins run without crosby.  Malkin has arrived and he's a star.  I dont buy into their defense or Conklin but those guys up front are scary good ( as the buffalo announcer says)

Sure i take it personal but that doesn't mean i don't know anything about hockey.... But who would montreal offer as part of a deal to get sundin ? and do they realy want to give up there first round draft pick to the leafs ?

The pens are winning right now without there star and we all know what they can do when the kid is playing.... plus this team got taste of the playoffs last year and i think they be alot more ready this time than last year

"The Philadelphia Flyers, Ottawa Senators, Detroit Red Wings, Montreal Canadiens, Anaheim Ducks and San Jose Sharks have all inquired about Sundin's availability and the price tag that goes with him.

It's believed the Flyers are willing to package young center Jeff Carter in a package for Sundin, while the Senators appear ready to part with Antoine Vermette."

i like vermette...id take him over carter.

I heard he will let Cliff know by tom. about his decision to stay or leave.

You guys think it is a STAY or GO?

I think it is  GO
