While driving tonight, this license plate caught my attention and had to take a picture!

But then it hit me. This was an Alberta license plate, where few Assyrians live, and the majority population is Caucasian. I thought it was unlikely to be Assyrian. However, after some Googling, I realized that 'Tigris' is not just the name of a river in Iraq/ancient Mesopotamia. More specifically, here's what I learned:

"Tigris is a feminine name with Irish, Gaelic, and Latin origins. It is the Latin word for "tiger" and is symbolic of strength, independence, and courage. Legend has it that Tigris is Saint Patrick's sister."

Regardless, I thought it was a very cool plate number, and now wonder if someone has the twin river: Euphrates! :)
