there is also a fundraiser in Sydney for Mar Meelis. we havent spoken about that and we wont because there is no point. respect both sides so that you can also be respected please.

Children are excluded from other types of functions too. Many weddings request no Children. Halls and Bars sometimes dont allow children because they are under age. Not because they have a disease.

Unlike the other side, Mar Bawai can't loot church funds for his legal fees; he relies on what little he has and what his family and friends are able to donate.  This is a great opportunity for his supporters to help out someone who has been unjustly smeared and attacked.

Rebel thanks for posting it, I didnt even know that was going on until you did.  Then i heard from someone an hour later.
 
Kinda sucks being in Chicago....I guess I will just have to go to Qasha Antwon/Prosecutors' fundraising at Mar Gewargis  :blowup:

LOL I was being a bit sarcastic, we, truth seekers and reformists, attend Ancient COE (MAR ODISHO) and/or Chaldean Rite (MAT MARIAM) here in chi-town.  We are gaining momentum and its beautiful.  They are so many others my age that come now to those churches in hopes of unity and reform.  The Qasha (ArchDeacon) at Mar Odisho is so brikha, he himself has stated that a reform and unity is a must and has welcomed the supporters of Mar Bawai's logic and thought with open arms.  For every door that is closed on us, more doors have and willl open.  Thank God!

i myself am attending both the chaldean church and the ancient church mass on sundays

ill be at the chaldean church tomorrow and hopefully the ancient church the week after. isnt it great that this issue has allowed us to return to these churches without worrying about the divisions. walls are being broken and we are moving towards a process of unity and harmony. these are sister churches and we should continue to openly attended where we feel comfortable. i feel welcomed everywhere i go, places i wouldnt have gone previously :)

our Lord is just and plans everything for a reason. He works in mysterious ways for the benefit of His Body has a whole. complete and perfect!

 
Everyone talks about UNITY.....yet the chaldeans, per SARHAD JAMMO, don't want anything to do with the assyrian name.....why then keep chasing around something that is denying us in our faces?  That my friends is not the definition of unity.......

the leaders of our church want unity but the leaders of the Ancient and Chaldean dont want it at all, their only welcoming you Mar Bawai supporters to futher split our church, the Assyrian Church of the East... the truth is they dont like us, open your eyes, their only doing this to hurt us

It is not their church that has threatened truth-seekers denial of church services, is it???  It is not their church that has closed their doors on Christians? 

I am sorry, Rate, they are acting and thinking Christian (even if they dont think nationalistic Assyrian) by opening their doors for us.  What are they supposed to do, shut them in our faces???

We must not forget that we are talking about Churches, the Bride of Christ, open to ALL!!  not like some shatapoota or political entity others are attempting to make the chuch as.

Let me get this straight.  The people who welcome everyone does not want unity, but the group who fill with rage whenever the word unity is mentioned is the one that actually wants it?  What twisted logic is this?  Does 5 + 7 = 79?
 
NOTE:

There is NO fundraiser in Sydney for Mar Meelis.

AUA (Assyrian Universal Alliance) has arranged a dinner function and have invited his grace Mar Meelis to be the guest of honour on the 4th of March 2006. The $20 donation DOES NOT go to the church.

The dinner is in honour of his grace upon his return from overseas.
 
so where does the $20 go to?

the function centre ? well this is ownded by the Church

the aua ? i doubt they will take the money and not donate it back
