The power of sublimation...

[manuel50]

sublimation is considered the landmark of frued's theories, its a defense mechanism or a concept that transforms unacceptable social impulses into higher energy, these impulses can sexual or emotional, with sublimation u can channel them by thinking of other things and caring about things that matter the most...

i read it a few times and i wasnt sure if i was grasping it so i looked up the word sublimation...i kept thinkin u meant like subliminal messages like with marketing (yaaa i guess it has to do with my degree). but according to my favorite online site http://www.m-w.com/dictionary/sublimation it means "to divert the expression of (an instinctual desire or impulse) from its primitive form to one that is considered more socially or culturally acceptable"

so on that note...can anyone give me an example of what would fall into that category?

and angel...do share ur dreams with us
