I think she has sympathy for Assyrians. It goes beyond pro "regime"

But majority of people in Syria who are against Assad are Sunnis because he's an Alawaite (Sector of Shia Islam).

Lots of Shias hated Saddam Hussain because he was Sunni, majority of supporters are people who are from the same group.

Yeah, she looks Levantine or Turkish. Syrians are mostly of Levantine descent anyway. And they're similar looking to us.
