Susan Boyle anyone?

this is soo cool that she is all over the internet hehe there was some other good acts last week also

This woman is absolutely amazing. The fact that she was able to perform so stunningly after being mocked and ridiculed by those in the audience is truly admirable. This is perhaps the best rendition of this song that I have ever heard! She has now caused a worldwide sensation; I would be surprised if she didn't win.

This was all over the news a few days ago. Good on her, this goes to show that you should never give up on your dreams even if you get laughed at every step of the way.

I agree with everyone here. This woman is just awesome!

I also think this rendition is far better than the original (not taking anything away from that since it was also a great tune).

Okay, is it just me that thinks it's awfully rude to say "don't judge a book by its cover" right to her face? You're calling her ugly while saying she sings well. How mean is that?!

It started at work two days ago, when my coworker talked about it. Then I read about it on CNN. Then on Twitter, which was has been a top 10 trends for the last few days.

So I decided to check it out, and my God, what a great voice. You wonder, where did she learn to be so good, if no one knew her? singing at home only?

And the dominant conclusion I got from most people talking about this, including those on Twitter, was:

DON'T JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER and it couldn't have applied in a better example than this. The lady was judged even before she got on stage to sing, starting from the biggest jerk of them all, Simon. I like how he ate his words after. That was a great lesson for him.

But I am sorry to say, and knowing how talent and fame these days is judged not just on voice and performance, but on looks too, I don't know if they will make her move all the way.

Go Suzy Go, you rock!

ASHOOR

Simon plans all this crap.  You guys should know better.  He makes all the money off these shows, and the talent too.  He laughs all the way to the bank. :)

Exactly. These programs are scripted. Same with American Idol. Simon knows this woman is going to be a surprise just like Paul was last time. It happens every year :D.

    WOWWWWWWWW i am speechless, she is simply incredible. she sounds like a professional singer satmawa. man bekhee telee when i heard her singing  :blush2:

My sis just showed me the video. That was a tough crowd, but she put every single person in that auditorium that taunted her in their spot with that sensational voice.

so she's a church performer..they usually are very exceptional singers.

You weren't impressed by that??

Meh.

It was nice, not thrilling, but nice.  I also think the entire thing was staged and I hate reality competitions on TV anyway so I'm predisposed to not giving a sh*t.  I haven't liked a single song that has come out of any of these TV show finds like American Idol or whatever.  It's all garbage to me.

These reality shows are doing to the music business what video did to porn, making it all low budget, bad, and amateur and making us think that anyone can do this. On top of that we're supposed to believe it's good.  I prefer professionals who know what they're doing.  I'm done with settling for the lowest forms of performance and amateur hour for my entertainment.  I demand more.  Amateur night as television does not appeal to me.
