So...it's x-mas time!  Yay...whoo   right?????  WRONG!  Christmas parties in san diego...are not fun @ all.  There is virtually no assyrian community here, (not more than 50 families...)  and the only community here is the chaldean community...I have no problem w/chaldeans but they throw mediocre parties (if they even manage to arrange any, for that matter) There have been some yrs.  where there has been no x-mas or new yrs. parties. NEways,  For new years parties, the chald. community brings arabic singers and not any of our singers...Overall x-mas and new years is very bland and boring here.  There is no "nashoota"  There is no sense of community here at all.  I mean don;t get me wrong, I enjoy x-mas because everything just seems more magical and cozy, and the family is all together and all that...but it would be nice to have fun at a really kool x-mas partee.  :crybaby:  Hopefully, the rest of you out there dont have this slight dilemma of mine...How are the holiday parties in ur cities????

You hate your city because of crappy parties? LOL, I don't even live in the states and I can list atleast 3 non chaldean assyrian families in San Diego.. There are a lot more assyrians than you think.. I think Valantina who posts here is from El Cajon..

San Diego has the sickest beach too... That outdoor mall thing was pretty cool, and to top it off you guys got the chargers as your football team.. What else do u need? lol

Well,,, i have no clue about assyrian parties here in melbourne for christmas or nye... coz like i dont know many assyrians. i only go to weddin parties... neways... every time i hear there WAS a party... it is because there was a fight and the cops got involved  :giggle:
So i just stay away from that crowd.. :shades:
So just throw a party at a penthouse... and you're all good!!!  :wavetowel: I KNOW imma be good :beee:

I think there are a lot more Assyrian families in San Diego than 50. I'm from LA and know quite a few Assyrian families down there. And there are some lovely AVNers down there too!

I know what you mean though. Assyrians in Los Angeles throw lame New Year parties with Persian singers. I don't personally enjoy them, but I go because my mom wants to go and a lot of people seem to have fun. Maybe you guys should come up to LA or something for New Years. :)
