Spamming Topics

Well i feel "Guilty" to say leave it upto them, i mean they/we are all adults and 1 warning is enough to submit and surrender our mischievousness towards other's thread topics and the moderators.

But once again, going off topic runs within our nature, no delibrate emotional harm of course.
 
So.......................................yeah, can't stop spam, you can only reduce it.....but really, then u'll be killin all the fun!

I know of one way to reduce spam...BANNING YOU  :mrgreen:
 
I've noticed, and been guilty of, that the threads get longer when people are online at the same time and constantly replying to each other.  It seems that it is a fast back and forth and the pages get going that way.  They are usually a response to something that someone posted and then a reply to that.  Then it usually starts to spread further from the topic at hand.  I personally don't have a problem with it and felt somewhat slighted when some stuff I had written back and forth with someone was removed without any warning to me.  I also don't see how that breaks any of the rules of number 6 spamming/flooding that was posted above.  I see it as a natural progression of chit-chat, which is what message boards are all about.  I've only been here for a few months and I've gotten pretty good at scrolling past things that I find irrelevant.  I personally am not in favor of deleting people's posts unless they are truly spam as defined above, mainly repetitive posts or things that are there to annoy specific members.
 
Jacob, I understand where you're coming from, but many other members get incredibly frustrated (especially the thread-starter) when it seems like every thread is hijacked by one or two people carrying on what seems to be a private conversation that snowballs into 2-3 pages of posts that have nothing to do with the topic.  And it seems to be happening more and more, usually involving the same person (who happens to be spamming in this thread.)  I've simply waited till everyone has had their fun, go in later on and remove the posts, thus allowing people to focus on the actual thread again.

Jacob, you havent been here that long, and you arent on here as often as a lot of us are... yeah, some people think spamming is 'fun'.. well thats why there is a spam thread.. no need to ruin good topics on personal conversations, which could either be talked about on MSN or in the spam thread...

Just cuz its a "chit chat" forum doesnt mean it does not have rules.. no spamming is a rule, and people have to learn to follow it..

As for deleting posts... I did that, cuz im so sick of having to tell people over and over and over to stop spamming/hijacking.. i dont think i have to tell anyone their posts are gonna get deleted.. i've said it a million times, if you spam, dont expect your post to be there shortly afterwards

It was a sarcastic comment because every thread in chit chat gets spammed to death outside of the SPAM thread....genuis  :mrgreen:

Yes i know, I am yet to see 3 successive threads pass 7 REPLYS without getting SPAMMED to death.......the fact of the matter is no matter hwat you do Spamming will never be gone, see just liek our convo right now this thread has gone from spamming to me and you callign each other geniuses in sarcasm........ :)
 
Since I have joined this web, its always about spammers & yet every time its same story!

Either fix it or just let it be!  Simple.  :mrgreen:

ASHOOR its about time you made me a Mod and you will see no more threads like this.  :shades:
 
Hal qdaleleh spam lately. It's killing me. Every time I move something to the Spam thread, it magically appears again in different form in the same thread I just cleaned out two seconds ago. It's driving me nuts!
