Spamming Topics

i think a better feature would be .. 5 posts MAX per topic.. that way spammers can go away.. :mrgreen:

notice how almost every thread had 3+ pages.. and 1/2 of it has nothing to do with the topic...

People love to talk and you just have to live with the fact there are spammers and they will never go away

Ashoor i have noticed that the time loged in does not go up anymore.... i am stuck at 77 days forever now

no, i dont.. they have to live with the fact, that they can talk all they want, but eventually all that talk is gonna end up in the spam thread.. as usual -- not lately, cuz i havent been on much.. but ill do it all later
 
This is not about spam, but since it is brought up: basically, I don't care anymore, anytime I open a topic and see spam, I remove it. And I have also started PMing people who are becoming repeat spammers (of course, most will claim that they are not)
Moreover, I am now encouraging topic starters to tell, those who spam their topic, off. As well as to PM us to remove any spam from their topic. We have to work together to reduce spam, mods alone can't do it, it is too much work.

I will have more to say about this.

As for the feature at hand, honestly, I just started using it, so I have to learn more about its variables and dynamics before I can answer any questions. Just use it guys and you will see.

How about hire a police guy just to go around deleting all the spam and tell who ever is spamming to stop it and give them a ticket so they be scarred and not do it again

Question how many people has this site lost since you brought this POLICE no spam grab on here ?

want me to list the people you have lost ? and how exciting the forum was ?
 
ROBIN, this topic is not about spam, so I won't go deeper into this. But if you don't think spamming is a big issue, and if people leave because they are not allowed to spam, then that is one big joke seriously.

Back to the topic at hand please.

Maybe we should introduce a 3 warning/strike. You breach that you are banned for a week. Otherwise if we are just cleaning the mess people will still do it.

Yeah but if you keep deleting peoples posts and then people would stop coming one by one , the website will bee empty and there you go you lost your JOB :mrgreen: you would have nothing to do

it's funny how u only delete the spam that is done by the people you don't like and yet the ones you like you keep there topics and there non related talk

Actually, some left because of the spamming (also because of the decline in quality of topics, but that's another story), that's why Ashoor is trying to encourage all of us to stop it.  If people like the spamming so much, there is already a thread for it.
 
ROBIN, seriously I can't believe what you are saying here man. And the funny thing is, you are not even a spammer yourself, why get so mad?

It is so sad when someone like Atourina does her job, and you guys tell her all this crap. You want someone who will let anything goes la?

And you got it wrong: the people who leave do so because of spamming and not lack of it.

People are tired of having to scroll pages after pages just to be able to follow a topic, but they can't because of stupid spam.

Cut the spam.  Going through 3 pages of spam just to get to the topic is hard work.  Some spam can be tolerated but when topics are spammed or flooded out, then no way should it be tolerated.

Thank you! Honestly, I still think ROBIN is pranking us or something and doesn't mean this nonsense that he is saying now. I am waiting for his "I pranked you guys"

No one said that we can't post anything that is not releavant. But some people are going way too far. And even when they know they are spamming, they won't stop it, that is when it gets annoying.

no i know some members leave because there is too much spam ,just like i know some leave because they always get told not to spam,the key here is to keep a balance

Oh so they can spam and we keep our mouth shut? then how will they get the point? or are you trying to tell me we are very harsh with our members and don't treat them nicely? sorry, but we can't be any nicer than this.

If people can't handle a simple "stop spamming' God help them.

And yes, when we see people spamming, we will delete it and if necessary tell them to stop.

i think u should go with khokhehs plan.. 3 warnings to STOP, and theyre out for a week... then we'll see how much of a better place this is..  :mrgreen:

am new and already tried of the fresh YET 3 pages topic!!!!!

i notiecd this place is really fast!! .. we have lots of active members, and it would be SOO MUCH better with out any spam!! we could learn so much from each other, and get to know each other but topic that is started today .. with in 2 hours its 3 pages long..

i feel like i want to comment to people and discuss certin things.. but who would ever check them out!!!! u write somthing 2 a member in a certin topic...with in 1 hours there is 3 pages piled up already?? :no3:

how is that person going 2 find/see what i commented on them??? and if they do it would mean going through 3 + pages !! :ban:

am with NO SPAM!!!
