So here is the Zowaa flag I had made in 2007. The original flag did not have Alaha Ashur and the rightward stripe was green, not red. Nirary Yousif from Chicago emailed me and asked me to change the stripe to red in honor of the martyrs, and I did that. I later decided to add Alaha Ashur as a spiritual element. I got some positive emails for adding it. I wanted to turn the middle white stripe into green but many people told not to do it since green stands for Islam. Also, the I had chosen white to symbolize the hope for a peaceful and tranquil Mesopotamia one day.
