Shocked by my own people..from same culture

I  know you guys have probably heard this a million times but i have to repeat my self. I was very shocked to hear that within our own culture people arw bashing one another. I know everyone has a freedom of speech or what not but please think before what u will say and the consequences that might follow it. I recently heard that some people are bashing our own priests and bishops, for the sake of all of our reputations we need to stop this and not show people how weak we are when we bash one another. I know there are opinions that everyone has of people but try and remember other people come on here and read all these comments made to eachother. and one more thing, to those people who are talking bad about our bishops just remember that our church has been around for over 2000 years lets not let some things tear us apart when we should be together in a time like this. Let the bishops and the people who are involved take care of it, while we sit here and support everyone and not let an issue like this tear down a foundation that we have built for so long..

DUNIA YOU MAKE SOME GOOD POINTS I COULD NOT AGREE MORE . WE SHOULD NOT BE BASHING OUR BISHOPS AT ALL THAT'S JUST NOT RIGHT .  AS FOR PEOPLE BASHING EACHOTHER HERE I DONT THINK ANY OF THEM ARE BEING SEROUS THIS SITE IS TO GET US TOGETHER AND HAVE FUN AND TALK ABOUT ANYTHING WE WANT AND GET TO KNOW EVERY1 . THERE IS THOSE WHO TAKE IT FAR SOMETIMES BUT THEN PEOPLE JUST IGNORE THEM AND YOU SEE THEM NOT SAY ANYTHING .  BUT AS FOR RESPECT THAT WE SHOULD DO MORE AT PARTIES.

WELL SEE SINCE WE HAVE SO MANY ORGANIZATIONS THAT KEEP SEPARATNG OUR CULTURE , SOME HAVE GIVEN UP AND THEY DONT CARE ANYMORE SO THEY HAVE NOTHING SAY SO THEY JUST BASH US . BUT THERE VERRY FEW AND OUR OMTA WILL RISE AGAIN AND EVERY1 WILL BELIEVE IN IT AGAIN .

Shouldnt this be in the religion section?

Although just one quick point to make...if a priest or bishop is doing something wrong then i think we should question it regardless of his title. This doesnt make it wrong or a sin...he/they are a human as well and prone to errors. The sad thing with assyrians that we think everything is a sin when its not...just open the Bible if you're not sure what constituts a sin and what doesnt.

sadly when someone tries to speak the truth, they are labeled.  im not gonna put blame on people for bashing priests or say i havent, but kheena some people have no common sense.  some are too passionate and they let their pride and anger in the way.  that forum has been destroyed.  yeah, we are a bunch off losers lool.  :ROFLMAO:

Hey Dunia,

You do make some valid points, however, please tell me this. If someone is wrong and is consistantly telling you something that is wrong AND YOU PROVE it is wrong, will you say it is right just because of his title or stature?

I've always been raised believing that the only way things will change and will get better is if you point out the faults and work to improve those faults. For me, I could honestly care less if it is a priest, bishop, pope, or patriarch. If someone is wrong, I will point out the wrongs and try to work to make them right again.

In this instance, I've been a firm believer that both Mar Dinkha and Mar Bawi should both resign and no longer serve the Church as leaders. It is obvious both of these men have failed the church and caused nothing but a rift.

If they were as pationate about unity as they claim to be, they'd both step down respectfully and leave the mess behind us.

Weather you want to believe it or not, one of those two "holy men" is a liar! One is accusing the other of something and only one can be right. By the looks of it though, and I'm not saying I'm a supporter of his, but it looks like Mar Bawi is the one that is right in this situation.

So you see Dunia, you can't just look past it just because they have a large roll in our church.

Whats white is white and whats black is black. No if's and's or but's about it.
 
RIZA azizi u read my post in the wrong way. Of course we shoudl try to make things when somethign wrong has been proven, but we must keep our respects towards eachother and try to voer come this whole thing..why cant we do it in a way where we try n solve anything without putting no one down and or insulting them in a way that is degrading for our whole country. Riza i dont side with no one on this issue, i let the courts, ppl who are educated about this issue deal with it and then when everything is out in the open without gossip or false statments, take action towardds it??? and even if someone is wrong in this we have no right to bash these people the way some are...they are a big part of our church, yes suspend them would be fine but our bishops do not deserve one bad word that comes out of our mouth...and khena akhnan we take it too far when we start talking...somethign small we make a huge fuss about it...

So plz dont take my post in the wrong way, thx for ur comments though

See Alina, as much as I hate you...lol its that being led blindly act that is affecting our nation. We refuse to listen to the argument because he HAS to be right just because of his stature.

I admit, some of the language used is offensive (me being one of those offensive people at times :shades: ) but, we should be glad that we are no longer living like we did in the past. We are now challenging our leaders to be entirely honest with us and civil. This isn't the 15th century where if you were critical of the patriarch they'd kill you. Everything he said was right. No. Our leaders now have no choice but to be entirely honest and open with us because, we'll argue back and fight back until whats right is right and whats wrong is taken out.

Stop following blindly and open your eyes. You'll see there is a lot that needs to be done within our churches in order for us to carry on for another 2000 years.

idk if this go into the topic but iv heard about choir in california was talking about negative things about mar dinkha. i belive last weekend for mass when they were reading and singing, they couldnt read the book and it started to turn red.
