Sargon Gabriel: is he done as a singer and a voice?

Has anyone been to a party lately where Sargon Gabriel was singing? how was his voice? I keep hearing people saying that his voice is completely finished. Well, we have been hearing this for over 5 years now, yet he is still going strong.

What do you guys think? is his voice really no longer good enough for singing? this is not a knock on Sargon because the legend has served his time and more than enough and even if he was to stop now, it is not like his legacy will be any different.

Ashoor khon, with all do respect for Sargon, but he is not older than Evin Agassi, then why Evin's voice is still good?
Well Sargon brought that to himself becasue he did and is not taking care of himself. When you get old all your body parts get old so you have to be careful and take care of those body parts. You are right he is done and he sound very bad and the reson people are bringing him is because they feel sorry for him. Don't get me wrong I love his songs and they will live forever.
Peace!

I have not been to hafla in ages, but seeing them on TV and the net he sounds just fine. If your sole intent is to sell tickets and just that without any other prerogative, tell the folks Sargon is gonna sing. I guarantee it will bring in ppl in droves. Arguably the best voice and the man with most hits.

I just DJ'ed a party which he headlined this past weekend and he was fantastic. The people were dancing non stop and he was feeling it that night and put on a great performance. Any rumor you hear about singer's voices being finished usually is BS because people like to take down anybody on top. The best thing is to actually go to the party and see for yourself

We dance to dawoola and zorna as well. Dancing to a singer has nothing to do with his good or bad voice.

I heard him on a recent Assyrian model show (forgot where), yes, he sort of lost his voice.

Some people do, some don't. Maybe drinking/smoking affects it?

That's karma for you, he was always so arrogant and full of himself. Now he lost the talent that made him so recognized.

I agree. He's so up himself and obnoxious. Who does he think he is, Elvis Presley? He thinks he is the most famous person on the planet.

Not only that, did ever make a nationalistic song? Many of his songs mention tribes like Tyarayeh and others but I've never heard him sing a song specifically saying Assyrians or anything...

One could argue that his songs just made Assyrians more divided with such lyrics.

Is music really that influential?

You must be kidding me. Have you never heard the song Atour?

He actually has made a nationalist song called Makh Seqlakh Nenwe in 1994.

But then again it was bleak and a war-ish kind of a song.

checked it out, the song sounds bland and doesn't feel like he put that much effort to it.

It's not catchy, tuneful, or memorable like many of his other songs.

It's nice he did make some nationalistic songs but I feel he could've made them more memory.

Here's one example by Shimun Kaplo.

checked that out too. It sounds similar in tune/rhythm with our church music.
