Saddam hussein wanted to rebuild babylon

Did you know that saddam huseein wanted babylon to be a city again? I wonder if that would work, if so, that would be awesome to se babylon back on the modern map
 
I'm happy Saddam didn't end up building it, it would just make us Assyrians look like a joke. I truly believe Assyria will rise within this century and possibly within a few decades. Ninos Aho believed Assyria will rise in 2050 and I believe that is a good estimate. We will one day rebuild Babylon.

I doubt by 2050 but we don't need a country, we need a province or region.
 
2050 doesn't seem like such an absurd estimate. We just need our current nationalists to do their part.

This is perhaps simultaneously the most pressing and yet opportune time for the Assyrians.

Exactly. If Assyrians unite within 10 years, there is no doubt in my mind that we can revive our country around 2050. If the Jews could do it, and if the Kurds (almost) could do it despite them having little significant historical connection with the majority of the land of "Kurdistan", who can say they we cannot do it? Everything is in our favour, we are just not working towards it. If we can for the most part unite in around 5-10 years, then we can do it, but we all need to play our part and work on improving ourselves as a nation and as individuals.

Actually, he could've built the city. And after they dethroned him and executed him, we would have gotten the city for ourselves. No need to go through the arduous work of construction. Lol.
