It is very hard sometimes to see past our anger when senseless attrocities are carried out against any innocent parties, especially when it is our own people who are persecuted to the point of death.
I just watched a YouTube video showing the people injured in a bombing against Christians in Iraq. I could not watch more than 2 minutes and I was in floods of tears. It is so easy to get angry at the situation, at the perpetrators and yes, even at God. I was thinking about how our people should avenge themselves and trying to justify this. I felt hopeless and angry.
But the Holy Spirit in me reminded me of the word of God. As soon as I started reading the words of hope and peace, my spirit calmed and the angry thoughts disappeared. Instead, I feel sorry for those who commit these crimes as their fate is sealed unless they repent. I decided to pray for them instead of embracing anger.
God's word is water to our souls! "And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:7) It is true; unless you have experienced the peace that the Holy Spirit gives you when you receive Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, you can never imagine how amazing it is; nothing else in the world can give you this peace for your soul.

I wanted to share this with you khoonwatee oo khatwatee. I love you all so much!!! :bigarmhug:
We should always encourage one another in our walk with Christ.
On the subject of defending ourselves when under attack, at the moment, unless I am enlightened with something that disputes this from the word of God, I am convinced this is not wrong.
If anyone feels otherwise, please quote your Biblical source!
I am open to correction as long as it has Biblical backing!
