what should i write about for my personal essays in my college applications?
no more than 300 words..i have 2 tell them about myself, describing interests and for my professional essay.. i have 2 write about my professional and intellectual aspirations and prior experiences relevant to my choice of a specific college or acedemic program at that university.. and i dont even kno wht damn college i want to go in at that uni.. uff!

Tell them about yourself (hardworking all the stuff that they would love to hear, what U want to become & why......bla bla) and why you chose their school

Well you need to decide what you want to do 1st in college in order to know how to help you come up with a relevant response to their question & your choice.

u need to have goals, short term and long term. write them down and show them yr interest and what ur really wanna become by going to this college, and how this college can help u meet yr goals.

MENTION YOUR HERITAGE. You're Assyrian love, don't forget it. Schools (like Loyola, eh?) have this big idea of adding diversity, you know, for whatever reason (even the best of intentions get politically pooped on sometimes). Anyway, YOU will add to that, you [your people] have a long history, and one of your goals is to succeed so that you can help your community. Those are all pretty words, I meant them, but throw them in there even if you don't...

here's a hint, write ANYTHING cuz nobody really reads that stuff. determining whether u get into a specific college is all about ur grades and ACT/SAT score, and has NOTHING to do w/the essays, so don't stress about them.

I kind of agree with Sarge81....It's when you get to graduate programs that they tend to look at your personal statements. The only thing I can suggest is be original....don't try and portray yourself as something other than yourself. If it's a school that you have to interview with before getting accepted, they actually pick stuff from your statement and ask you about it. GOOD LUCK!!! I hate these damn things.....
