Portugal beats France and wins Euro Cup 2016

Ronaldo and Portugal did the unthinkable and beat France 1-0 in ET. This despite Ronaldo being injured and getting subbed in the 25th minute.

A few things about the Messi-CR7 rivalry following this win

-CR7 has proven that he can do it with country, La Liga and EPL. Messi has proven he can only do it with Barcelona in La Liga

-With CR7 winning the Euro cup, you can bet Messi will want to come back and win something for Argentina

-Can this summer go any better for CR7 and any worse for Messi? CR7 managed to win the CL for the third time in his career as well as the Euro Cup for the first time in Portugal's history. Messi on the other hand? He got charged in tax fraud, missed a penalty that cost his team the Copa America and then announced his retirement from international soccer.

It was great. I always believed Ronaldo was the superior player overall and the best of this era. After 2016 there is not much of a question left. I don't think Messi will ever win anything for Argentina.
