To Zowaa, memebrs of Zowaa, Nenos Younan and the AVN community,
Over the past 48 hours, my post on Nenos Younan and his comments made on PalTalk have created a stirr or controversy of sorts. The comments made on the forum were (a) my own opinions but (b) uncalled for. I dont know the history of Nenos Younan and therefor can not comment too much on his past. I can only comment on what I've experianced working with Nenos during the Assyrian Genocide Awareness Day held August 7, 2004 at Queen's Park as that, and a few other instances, have been my only knowledge of his work.
To Nenos, my apologies.
To Zowaa, I stand true to my word of an immediate leadership change. However, just because I do not agree with the way the current leadership is taking Zowaa and Assyrians does not, IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM mean I am not a supporter of Zowaa and their work. To bring this issue even closer to home, I am a member of the Federal Liberal Party of Canada. But I could not stand Paul Martin. Does that mean I would work with the NDP or PC because he's the head of the Liberals? No. I am Liberal and I am Assyrian! I work for Assyrians, PERIOD.
I love Zowaa. I love the members. And I love the work the members have done. Having said this, I can only imagine what would have become of our nation if these tireless men and women of our beloved nation worked under the leadership and guidance of others.
To Zowaa and their members, my apologies for mentioning Nenos Younan as the "head of Zowaa's Mukhabarat". Childish, and uncalled for.
Finally, to the AVN community and those reading the posts made here as Guests.
I was born into the ADO world. My father has a large and active role in ADO (Mtakasta) in Canada and North America in general. Although we live together and may share some common ideas, statements made on AVN are entirely mine and mine alone.
I am NOT. Again, I am NOT a member of ADO. I am simply a supporter. I do not pay membership dues, and I have no right speaking on their behalf. So to clear that minsunderstanding and put it to rest right away, I do not speak for ADO, I do not speak for ADO Members, and I definatly do not speak for my father!
To ADO and its members, my apologies.
For those kind enough to have called me and expressed their opinions on this matter. I thank you as well. But do understand, my decision to remove my comments and make this statement are for two reasons. My fathers conversations with me and my own close political friends who brought this to my attention. You know who you are.
To conclude, my father has always told me to think before I speak and to never involve yourself in these matters. For the simple fact that I am his son automatically makes the Assyrian community assume that what I say are because of his influences. I have always ignored that and continued on my course, until tonight. It is true. What I say, people do misinterprut it and automatically assume it is my fathers comments. For that very reason, to save HIM face, I'm backing off. I will keep my personal comments personal and will only discuss them in private matters.
To the AVNers on here, please, you too watch your comments. You never know who's reading!
