Tonight we had a great halloween party till we got the news....the bisschop of the Syrian Orthodox church (section Europe) passed away this evening....

After hearing this we stopped the party and went home....it was already midnight...i am curious what the procedure is now...

Oh man. The news have'nt reached us yet, so i wonder how tomorrow it will be at church.

I was at his funeral at the Mar Ephrem Monastery on saturday along with about 20,000 people.

Allaha mot Maniekhle....... Dude this Quote would have to be the most used phrase in the Assyrian Langauge....

Firstly, i realy do hope and Pray for the Bishops family, friends and relatives, and i ask god to have mercy on them all, and to give them the Strength and faith to go on... :)

As for the Bishop himself, Well unfortunately there is no Mercy after death for him.... All there is is Judjment.....The mercy is done when he was alive.....

GOD does not show mercy when its too late.....whatever someone is done in his earthly life will be judged on it accordingly... NO special considerations given to anyone.....

So Technically speaking, the Phrase " May god have mercy on him " is totally Cultural and Traditional and does not reflect God's True intentions :)

i could be wrong, but...

the direct translation for ALLAHA MANIEKHLEH is not MAY GOD HAVE MERCY ON HIM. maniekhleh does not mean mercy, it means heal.
 
i went to his funeral last saturday.....and they brought him in over a red carpet dead in his chair.......it was sooo freaky...15000 assyrians attempt the funeral, it was very impressive...
