My Latest Poem - Empty

[Cookie]

Empty

One by one, they drop,
And my heart starts to beat a little slower

The stars at night weaken and fade away,
Leaving only the eyes of the night flashing bitter hope

Change is immanent and time against us,
Withering like a flower caught in the blaze of the moment

Smile today; weep tomorrow,
You shine at happiness yet bask in your sorrow

It?s unknown to the average eye,
Yet the soul bellows out the message

Trying not to let the tears run slowly down my cheek,
I?m left to wonder at what I never understood?

When success is unattainable, you try again
When trying again is unsuccessful, the words begin to stop

You think you know someone, yet what you know is hidden truth
I know what you think of me, but you'll see, and then who will be smiling!
