Moslem Singers

I honestly believe we Chaldeans and Assyrians as well should ban Moslem singers. I am singling out Hussam al-Rassam and the Iranian singer Leila Forouhar(whose husband openly backs the IRI regime, which oppresses us Catholics and all other non-Moslems). These people are despicable Moslems who worship a child molester and rapist. Agree or not?

That's not very enlightened thinking, just to ban anything that you don't believe in.  Censoring art is very 16th century.

If I know they directly fund someone who harms us, then I sure will boycott them.

ASHOOR

If they were singing about mohammed.. ya then I wouldn't listen to their music.

Don't be so closed-minded. They are only singers.. infact, they are going against their religion by singing. And people that go to their concerts.. its "haram" for them to do so.

wow... its only music, calm down.

I agree Not.

I love hussam's music =D

Eddie stay away from Greek Singers please... leave them alone i love them lol.

What a ridiculous thread.  Just because a singer has a Muslim name, does not mean they are Islamic - for crying out loud.

To some people, this concept is like rocket science.

Kathem el Saher and Hussam el Rassam are secular nationalists.  If I am to be told that they are 'Islamic', then I will also believe that 2 + 2 = jello.

Very well said.  The phrase 'Muslim singer' is literally oxymoronic.

Ekh, Leila Forouhar. Freakin' AAASC got her to sing for the NYE party this year in Los Angeles. :yucky:

It's not about being open-minded or close-minded, but why have our shotapooyateh support non-Assyrian singers? If for anything (besides political reasons), look at it in terms of monetary support. These guys, for the most part, khooteh milyeleh zooyzeh and yet we're feeding them more money when our own singers are broke? How does that make sense?

great singers like nathem gazhil, abdul halem hfiz, kathem el saher, etc...u cant miss out on their talent just  Because of their Religious affiliation.  come on now

I am Chaldean, but the three Sureth words you used just got me to bang the table in agreement. Your argument and my argument about al-Rassam is the same. I actually mentioned that immoral woman's name in my original argument (because her husband is an agent of the regime that makes Chaldean/Assyrian girls dress like Khadijah). I seriously recommend that the people you people in LA oust the folks who brought her. I know many Chaldeans who are members of that God forsaken place. Likewise, in Detroit, or anywhere else. If the AANF had brought a Moslem singer when the came to this town last fall for the Convention, I would unleashed on Khamis in a manner that would convince him to tattoo Yosip Hanna (my name) on his forehead like the scene in Bumfights. BTW, I hope you boycotted NYE. I have boycotted AANF because there were more Assyrian singers than Chaldean, and because they do not elect Chaldeans to their leadership. Assyrians have quickly forgotten their Catholic past. Even Darmo mentioned this fact on Assyrians for Justice. The Armenians call money "pokh," and it is also a Turkish word, of a different definition. Use the Armenian word for the pockets of such traitors, and the Turkish word for the contents of their cranium.

I've personally tried to bring it to the attention of the AAASC, but honestly...it's an uphill battle. It's so useless trying to get them to realize what's going on. My father has tried for years and years, but it's gotten nowhere. It's really sad, to be honest.

I did boycott the AAASC party...my entire family and some of our family friends did as well. My family was considering going (even though I was stressing that we shouldn't) because we thought it was the only Assyrian party in LA and there was nothing else to do, but once we found out there was another one, we attended that one. And I was glad to see that many Assyrians in LA did the same.

And for AANF to differentiate and further separate us by failing to elect and support Chaldeans is disgusting. I can't believe they'd even think about doing that!
