"St. Ephrem the Great" is one of the famous scholars of the Church of the East, he was born in the town of Nusaybin in 308 AD and died in the city of Edessa (Urhai) in 373 AD. We can add his name as another witness on the continuity of the Assyrian pride despite the fall of Assyria BC. In his prayer below (see photo attached), he Bemoans the state of his Assyrian ancestors when they surrendered for "The terrified Jew? as he put it describing Jonah, and according to his faith to the story as a man of religion.
