I just read that Maliki is about to have a List including various "Iraqi Groups", like sunnits (the Abu Risha Tribe) or like Assyrians Christians and kurdish groups..

Unfortunataly they didnt yet show which parties would join the List...

What are your thoughts? Is it helpful a(lso for Assyrians) to join a National Iraqi List, where all the groups who are interested to keep IRaq together join eachother?

Where is the benefit, where are the problems?

Would anyone of you guys like to see few assyrian parties like ADM join this Maliki List?

the source, unfortunataly in german...

I read about this on Yahoo News, and it is a step forward for Iraq. Time to move away from all the tribal and religious affiliations, and to form parties that benefit Iraq in genral and not based on Sunni, Kurdish or Shi'tte interests.

These are two very powerful groups, and it would really help for Assyrians to join this list. You can bet, if you show some loyalty and cooperation to these groups, they will help you back (Assyrian)

So I definetely do want Zowaa to join this list, than to join a KRG list which will not be in their long term interest.

Sargon Lazar - the head of Ashur TV who has been traveling over North America this week - said that the ADM would not join any list that was ethnically or religiously defined (i.e., a "Sunni" list, a "Kurdish/Arab" list, etc.).  They would either run independently or as part of a "National" list, meaning an all emcompassing Iraqi one. We'll see what that turns out to mean.

Although I am not the only one who said this, but I have mentioned it in various ocassions before: Assyrians (Zowaa specifically) are the only group in Iraq that works for Iraq, and not for their own religious and ethnic interests.  They truly want to work for one Iraq, unlike all the other sh*t groups who put themselvs first, and Iraq comes second. Not sure if this is a good thing for Assyrians, but if anything, it shows how loyal they are to Iraq, despite all that they have been through. As for other groups?

-Kurds? well, we all know where their interests lie, we have been discussing it for years on AVN
-Shi'ttes? stooges for Iran and the Mullahs.
-Sunni: Loyalty to the B'aath regime, Islamist agenda and keeping the insurgency going.

Why would it be helpful to join a national list if there are five seats reserved for us? Isn't is easier to just compete with the other assyrian lists as opposed to competing with all of iraq?
