So since Noon failed to show up to our first get-together (because she's tambal and slept all afternoon), we had another one today. We were off to our usual disorganized start with the meeting time changing multiple times (my fault), but we were finally able to meet up for a late lunch. I had to make sure to get there early because Noon threatened to order for me if she made it there before me. I had covered the first outing with barwarneta and her cousin, so noon insisted that this was her treat (plus she felt bad for ditching us the first time.) So in order to torment her, I threatened to starve myself all day and order the filet mignon....with dessert. Since noon is so cheap she was determined to get to the place before me so she could order for me -- dinner rolls and tap water!
So I made it there before them (woo-hoo, no dinner rolls!), and noon and barwarneta arrive a little late because noon is not exactly Magellan over here, she'll get lost on a one-way street, thus she had trouble finding where to pick-up barwarneta. The girls arrive, we catch up on AVN gossip, talk about all of our favorite/hated AVNers, eat, drink and have fun.
Then it gets interesting. The waitress arrives to clean our table. I tease noon about not finishing her salad and she remarks, "khiltenwa Taco Bell qdemta" and we all burst out laughing, including the waitress  Now we're like, oh sh!t, is she Assyrian? How did she know what we're saying? Then we started thinking back over our conversation to make sure we didn't say anything incriminating. Poor noon is dying of embarrassment because she's afraid the waitress now thinks she's a balwanta (she had breakfast very early in the morning, and this was a very late lunch.) Anyway, we thought maybe she was just laughing along with us and didn't understand what we were saying. She certainly didn't look Assyrian. Then she brings us our bill, remarks that she hopes the food was better than Taco Bell and ends it with "basimta!" D'oh  Jareh Noonie, she turns as red as the ketchup bottle on our table, and we are now holding our sides from laughing so hard.
Overall, it was a wonderful mini-gathering. Noon, thank you so much for lunch, it was really wonderful. It was lovely seeing you both for the second time, but hopefully not the last. You ladies are amazing :bigarmhug:
