Well, I may have told you guys this but my hospital (Rouge Valley Health System) is in a financial crisis. We have the largest deficit compared to all other Ontario Hospitals.
RVHS is actually two hospitals (Ajax-Pickering and Scarborough Centenary).
Anyway, because of this stupid over spending and what not, they want to cut 220 jobs at both sites. This doesn't mean their going to fire 220 people, it just means that they will eiliminate, or not fill, a total of 220 jobs.
So, obviously, we're "pissed" (I'm not, I really don't care lol) so we're going in front of Queen's Park to protest this insanity! Being a Union Rep for Cupe at our hospital, I have no choice but to go.
So not looking forward to it.
