Looking for any Assyrian Lyrics Writers?

Hello,

This is just a short post in case there are any lyrics writers who may be passing through or if anyone might like to try even for the first time.  I am an Assyrian guy but have written most of my songs in English as most of the music I listened to growing up was Western.  However at the end of my songwriting I did write two small Assyrian tunes (1 fast and 1 slow) but since I speak so little Assyrian could not write lyrics and don't even know what typical Assyrian lyrics sing about.

However if someone might like to do such a project feel free to contact me.  Also I am not sure on song structure with Assyrian songs also (they repeat a lot I know!) so I really just have basic mp3 sketches with the "hook" or tune.  But it is all free and the emphasis is just on fun really (I am not trying to be the next Assyrian Elvis Presley!).  Also if it gets written I don't know any singers either but then the songs are not even complete yet.

It is no problem if nothing happens I just thought I'd ask.

Thanks/Baseema/baseemta raba,

Pierre (You can contact me either in the forum or with a message)

Hi,

Many thanks for the reply and sample also.  Although I do not read Assyrian I will ask a relative to translate later today if I can.

Here are my two mp3 files to listen or download if interested.  I'm not sure what kinda of lyrics might fit if any.  The first tune I thought of as faster and maybe a duet with alternating male/female verses.  The second I thought of as maybe slow and jazzy, maybe with a real trumpet even etc.  But really I don't care how they are used if at all.  Only if one day someone ever sings them it would be nice to have a credit or acknowledgement.

Thanks again,

Pierre
