Agree, these are the top things to help you learn the language. Better yet, listen to family and be at many social events as possible and in no time, you will find yourself conversing and understanding with no issue.

And let us not forget technology: Youtube is your friend these days. There are so many clips where you can see Assyrians speaking live. You may encounter so many different dialects that you could find confusing but at the end of the day, it all helps.

If you didn't speak a lot of Assyrian in your childhood then there's no chance that you could be fluent in it now in your adulthood.
 
Anyone know of any courses online in Syriac/Assyrian. I've browsed some of the resources on here and other places, but it's mostly dictionaries. Would like to move past the alphabet someday.

Well I haven't reached adulthood quite yet and that's an ignorant statement to say. Many people learn languages as adults, although children learn it faster.

There is still some truth to it. It's extremely hard for adults to learn a language and be fluent in it. And who said adults don't learn languages?  :blink:

Why is it that you assume i'm speaking with cockiness? It could be how I speak on the internet for all you know..
