:giggle: I kinda feel sorry for him, he clearly slipped and is going to get into so much trouble for this!

That's dumb if he gets in trouble. It's not like he shouted it at someone.

I'm no fan of Joe, but I wouldn't want him getting in trouble for this.  He clearly slipped and apologized right away.  Still, it was funny to watch, especially Mike Barnicale's reaction  :ROFLMAO:

Scarborough's a pretty genuine guy, agree with him or not.  I thought it was hilarious that he threw it out there, and seemed almost to be in disbelief that he actually said it through the rest of the clip.  Hilarious.

Really?  And society hasn't broken down completely into chaos and anarchy?!  WOW!

Same thing here in Canada, in most cases anyway. People swear all the time here. Musicians love  Much Music (it's like MTV) because they are aloud to say whatever the want. lol

"it's not a real country anyway" *singing to the tune*

I love the episode about Canada going on strike because they want the world to give them 'respect'. hahahaha

I like the system in the US, where the FCC does such a good job of cracking on such things on TV. Some may say "we already see it in public, why are they bothering?" Well, the less we see of it (at least the children) the better it is. Even here in Canada, the CRTC does a good job of keeping profanity out of Radio, TV and the press. But it doesn't come close to the US. When you watch TV, you expect these people to be role models for others, so if you see them swear, that is not much help to those of us who expect more from them.

And for those who want the FCC to let go and not censor everything, because it is a free country and we have freedom of speech, I have this to say: this has nothing to do with Freedom of Speech. This is more like 'Abuse of Speech' Can't you express your opinion without having to use profanity. Heck I will go further and challenge them to go and speak with the same language with your family. If they are OK with it, and they don't mind you swearing at them and using bad language, then you may have a case. If not, then don't complain.

I say this in general, not to anyone here.

In fact, I even get it from people on the chat sometimes. They say "why don't you guys let us swear, why try to censor us?"

And my answer to them is usually: "I will let you swear at people here, if you can do the same thing with your family, while your little brothers and sisters are present"  See, they would like to swear infront of others, but they don't want it to happen in their home.!

I learned cursing from my parents.  Did I ever curse infront of them?  Did I ever curse at someone older than me? Did I ever dare to curse at my parents?

They're just words.  But parents should do the parenting and make sure their kids understand that those words are considered disrespectful in some social situations.

Jon, we all know how to swear. Few words here and there are OK. In fact, they even make a situation a little more funny maybe. But what I really can't stand are those people (most do it for show off or for their inability to carry a proper conversation) who use the F word in almost every sentence. I have even seen a lot of employers do this when they get frustrated. I hate it and it just tells me this person is not reliable or professional enough to deal with.

TV has a huge influence, and while you may be able to make the difference, to others, seeing someone swear on TV (at least a professional person) gives them a reason to think that it is OK.

On tv, they usually don't show professionals swearing.  Just like in movies.  And they will not make you swear.

Kids shouldn't be watching adult programming in the first place...  That's why it's all the responsibility of the parents.

Well, from time to time, you may want your kids to sit down (with you) and watch the news for example. Just to get them to learn more about the world, or some basic things. So you have to trust that what you and your kid will see, is just professional stuff, and profanity-free. And with few exceptions, like you said, profanity is kept out of it, thanks to the 'few seconds delay' as well as people on TV themselvs, realizing what are the expectations from them (not to swear, not to act like an idiot etc.)

:giggle: I love that song! I'm going to honour my country and say F*CK YOU!

The world blames America for everything and American blames Canada. What would be better having the world hate you or one country ? :hmmm:

Well, we just elected Obama so the world doesn't hate us anymore.  In 4 or 8 years, we can send Obama north a few hundred miles to fix Ottawa as well.

I don't think the world will end if a child learns the word f*ck.  Just explain that it's a very rude word and they shouldn't use it.
