It is sad but it is getting ugly between our bishops!

It seems like since the Mar Mari video about baby Jesus, those who don’t like him used to say ‘we got him’ and the tactic kinda worked as so many have questioned Mar Mari or at least were confused by his remarks in video. And I have a feeling if he could walk back his remarks, he would.

This video is generating quite the buzz and fray, I hope it gets reported and banned because it is causing a lot of divisions that our nation or church don’t need.
First it was Mar Bawai and now it is Mar Mari. Mar Melis loves to cause division, while he himself is hardly a beacon of Christian values. He did many great things for the Sydney community back in the 80s when he arrived, but even his arrival caused (you guessed it) divisions (though I don't blame him for those divisions). Nowadays, the Assyrian community in Sydney is really divided, whereas when I was a kid, it was anything but divided.

Having said all this, if Mar Mari has been making out like he is part of the Church of the East, then he needs to stop this. I don't know one way or the other as I live in Darwin nowadays. I do know that many of my old friends who had become disillusioned with the church, have started going to Mar Mari and it has reinvigorated their faith. It isn't only Assyrians who go there. Heck, one of my Vietnamese friends who lives 1 hour drive from Fairfield is a regular at Mar Mari's sermons. Mar Melis has turned people off due to his own personal affairs, hence many people will see this video as sour grapes, towards a religious leader who is actually gaining a larger and larger following every week.

Mar Mari has been winning the hearts of Assyrian youth through his Daring and new way of preaching. He is a True Evangelist and preaches Jesus to the Core, hence why he is making himself too many enemies, including Other Christians.

Mar Meelis looks upset as he is probably losing some of his congregation to him.

This never Gets old. Always takes me back to the 80's Drama

Will never ever get old. Almost 35 years, and my cousins and I still quote lines from this classic. I still remember the Fitzgerald Inquiry into Queensland Police corruption. This investigation had taken 3 years and was top news for 3 years. On the day they were to release the findings, Assyrians had their brawl outside the Supreme Court of NSW, and the news networks were so fixated on that, that they barely mentioned the Fitzgerald Inquiry.

What year was this exactly? Different video titles display 1987, 1988 & 1989. I'm so petty and pedantic when it comes to years as each year is its own unique thing.

It was definitely in 1989. Anything else is a lie. One of the police that made arrests at the Supreme Court was Bill Harrigan who was a famous NRL referee.
