We inherited this Honda CR-V 2010 a few years ago from a family member and within first few weeks, I noticed this rattling sound coming from under the car. Upon close inspection and some online searching, turns out to be a catalytic converter (cat) heat shield . In this case, after years of rusting, wear and team, it almost splits in half and is loosely held. I decided to post this here in case someone else runs into the same issue. It is an easy fix that you can do yourself and save yourself hundreds of dollars that a mechanic would charge you. Note, my brother has a tow truck, so it helped that he was able to lift the car so we can go under it to make the quick fix.
