IQ & environment

Every person has been genetically set with the kind of intelligence they are suppose to have, but the thing that greatly influences it is the environment. Those raised in "enriched environments" score at the top of their reaction range. The reaction range is the set in IQ range.........

this demonstrates it

interesting :) it makes sense

I hate it when people say that the poor are poor b/c they're lazy.......society needs to understand how big of an influence the environment has.

My parents motto is if U study you'll be at the top of your class, but kheena U have genetics too.

i know what u mean... i think genetics has a big impact on that

Our genetic set gives us the possiblity to be intelligent, but the envirnoment decides how much we can use our genetic set....

Only those who are extreme intellegent found a way to use the maximum of their genes, most of the people don't even get near to that level

Indeed, genetics gives us a disposition towards certain things we encounter in the world. Genes give us the potential, the capacity to do certain things, but it is a matter of fact that potential can only be fulfilled provided the right conditioning.. And conditioning is dependant upon enviroment.

Humans are like any other creature on this planet, where we are greatly plays a role in what we are and who we become.

True

There have been many case studies done to prove that the conditioning you get from your environment has a huge part. Adoption studies show that siblings reared together are more similar in IQ than siblings not raised together. There are also cases of twins raised in different environments and how the IQ was different. The twin raised in an enriched environment was more intelligent than the twin raised in a deprived environment.
