OK. Help a brother out. My name was misspelled when my dad filed our papers.

They wrote "ANEKI" rather than "ANKI". So, I want to ask you, what should I change my name to?

At work I'm known as Nick.

It's funny you posted this - I often have to force myself to write "Anki" because I WANT to write "Enki".  ENKI ENKI ENKI!!  The "e" is closer to the original sound, "Enkidu", whereas with an "A", people will overaccentuate the "A" and call you AAAAnki.

btw.. on my birth certificate, my mom put my first name as Youlia (middle name), and my middle name as Atourina.. so a lot of my government stuff comes to Youlia rather than Atourina.. that was also my grandma's name, who lived with us before she passed away (God rest her soul)

Leave it as is!  do you know how much of a hassle it is to change ur name???  If you decide to go with Anki...its not even worth getting rid of that one letter.

Changing your name to a "North American" acceptable name would in a way strip you of your ethnic/cultural identity and leave you with an ascribed/assmiliated identiy to fit in easier.
