Totally agreed. Although my husband has a renewed dislike for our media outlets right now. Anytime Suroyo TV shows an east Assyrian singer performing at their functions (which is often), he shoots me a dirty look and yells, "Bikhzayit?!" Then goes on a rant about how east Assyrians are "shotanayeh" because we never bring performers like Habib Mousa or Addo Rahwi to our parties :bangin:

Yeah, the majority of the programming is in the west Assyrian dialect. I try to concentrate hard and see if I can make out exactly what they're saying. I can usually get the gist of it, but not always. Anyways, I appreciate that they at least show our singers a lot. It's one thing to talk about "unity" and another to actually practice it.

Actually they just ran an entire program on the Church showing really old footage (probably 50's or earlier) and it was held entirely in Eastern Assyrian.
I love their host I think her name is Sargunta (could be wrong) she's awesome! lol
When we over here talk about "unity" I don't think that word really applies to the Assyrians of the Syriac Orthodox Church. Minus the few who claim to be Aramean's, the others identify themselves as Assyrians and don't see any form of division between the two churches.
I think the whole division issue was brought on by ourselves, the "Shotanayeh" Eastern Assyrians. And by constantly referring to the Assyrians from that church as, "them", "they", "those", etc.
But in any case, still love this channel :wavetowel:

Suryoyo SAT lacks proper funding and really they're barely surviving. The have very poor programing and are rarely watched. In fact, many of the people who consider themselves Aramean tend to watch Suroyo TV instead (according to some of my friends in Sweden).

Seriously, when I first heard the singer singing that song on Suryoyo TV, I thought he was saying something completely different. My mom, sister, and I had a great time making up our own dirty lyrics. YES, I said my mom, somehow we got her to join us and it was a real bonding moment...

( jahni Pshenaa ). They adore her haha.SuroyoTV all the way. Love the channel. But when I watch Ishtar TV it looks more professioanl etc. But it is about the quality of the shows and not the graphic I know
.Nobody likes SuryoyoSat mainly because of their anti-Assyrian propaganda and the airheads, assholes, criminals they show on tv. Worthless, singers, hosts who don speak that wel Syriac. It is like listening to my 5 year old cousin speaking Syriac. And all they show is church, church church and more church. It is like they have nothing else to show. Oh yeah stupid party's.
But it is a good thing that SuryoyoSat is here because there is some competition and it lets SuroyoTV stay awake.

The singers are DRAMA......all these old men who wants to try to sing and completely make a fool of themselves. its disgusting!
but its oke....they try to do the shows in maherboyo/madenhoyo and arabic so that everybody can watch it...thats good and some programs are actually nice.. ooh and fooks watch the 4 th of may...I will be in the studio then

Ishtar tv looks very good, but I dont understand arabic so yeah..

Well how would the madenhoyo know those singers if we never air their music, bring them to our parties, etc.? The maerwoyos know the east Assyrian singers because they get publicity in Europe through the Suryoyo community there. The same doesn't happen the other way around, which is a real shame because we are missing out on some very talented (and nationalist) singers.

you know what i hate and its frustating is trying to explain to 40-50 year old assyrians what Ishtar TV is all about.
