I just finished my one month fast

You may ask what was the fast for, I didn't hear of any fast coming up.

Last month, June 21 at around 200 in the morning, I hit rock bottom in my life. There was so much pressure on my from my work, from my family, from school, but above all, from myself to perform at a high standard in everyday life, that it really got to me. I became depressed for three months prior to June 21.

During that time, I had given up on Christ and God. I didn't think there was a heaven and hell. I'd say to myself, even if there was a heaven and a hell, I knew I was going to hell, so who cares?

I had talked to a very good friend of mine before I hit full denial and he told me that one day someone will come into my life, it may not be now, it may not be for a few years, but one day they will walk into your life and bring you back to Him. I didn't think anything like that would happen to me and just brushed it off.

On June 20th I was on my lunch break with a very good friend of mine from work. We are coworkers in Emerg. We were watching a man try to park his car and did a pretty crappy job of it. He was probably 80 or something. That was when this woman out of no where starts talking to us. She started telling us about how depressed she was in life and how one day she just hit rock bottom and felt Jesus with her in the room. She also said how he pushed her down gently and she fell on knees and cried all night.

Working in Emerg, we see a lot of psycho patients, and we dismissed her as one of those. So as we were about to leave, I shook her hand (don't know why) and the grip and gaze she gave me, I still remember it today. It was deep and pure, I can't explain it.

So I was talking to this coworker of mine at 1am and that was when I started getting angry and upset. It wasn't directed towards the coworker, just in general about life. My grandma has also been on my mind for a while because she is very sick in the middle east and we fear her time is near. So with both of those on my mind, I lost it. I tried hanging up but I couldn't do it. Finally I put the pillow on my face to yell and thats when my life changed.

As soon as I closed my eyes. I saw what I immediately believe was Jesus with my grandmother. As soon as I took the pillow off my face, this huge presence was felt in the room. As if someone or something was in there but everywhere. My family is DEEPLY spiritual and I immediatly knew what it was. My sister had a night where she met Jesus and described the same feeling I was going through at the moment.

I began to cry (keep in mind, the phone is still on my ear). I was apologizing to Him and it felt as if he was talking to me through my friend on the phone. The sudden change of tone from my friend, and the words used just seemed to be someone else talking through her. The words were deep and powerful and I knew it wasn't her talking to me. I cried uncontrolably for a good hour.

When I finally felth the pressure ease, I managed to stop crying and get up to grab the tissue box on the floor next to my bed. I get up and grabbed it. As I turned to face my bed, the pressure came back immidately. This time I cried but couldnt move my body. All of a sudden I felt something push on my back and i collapsed on my knees crouched over the side of my bed. Crying.

I managed to raise my head and the first thing that caught my eye was my cross beside my bed. It was a very scary yet amazingly calming experiance. After getting my composure back, I decided I needed to pray. I told my friend I'd call back when I was done. THis is now 4am.

The first person that came to my mind was the friend I spoke with who told me I'd meet someone that would change my life without knowing it. I called him and left a message. He ended up calling me back within 10 min (I think I scared him jareh, I was crying when I was talking to him...lol). We talked about it. He told me how to pray (didn't know how to actually pray. don't really understand what we say when we're in church) and I prayed that night.

The next morning, I decided to fast for a month without any meat (including fish) or alcohol except the wine at church. I also decided to put a donation to the ACOE and that I'd attend mass at any church every sunday.

My grandma is still sick, but she didn't pass. Although I know after this vision that even if she does, I can take comfort in knowing He's beside her and watching over her. That she'll be in great company and in a comfortable place when she does indeed pass.

This really has changed my life. I haven't told many people this, only close friends and family. I hope this experiance will be able to bring back the faith in God in others who are on the brink of denial. He is in fact real and even though he may not show Himself to you or even though He may not answer ALL of your prayers, understand that He is around you ALL the time and He does love and cherish you. All He asks for is faith. For you to believe in Him.

I hope you all enjoyed this story and keep Him close to your hearts. He loves you and will always love you no matter what.

John 9:25 - He answered and said, Whether he be a sinner [or no], I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.

Riza,

Thank you so much for sharing such a beautiful and intimate experience with our Lord Jesus.  God bless you and strengthen you in all His ways.  His love is amazing, He remembers us when we are down, the apostle says somewhere that He comforts the downcast, glory be to His name.

We all need to get closer to Him in our relationship.  The evil in the world is getting stronger and its harder to keep one's faith day by day, the spiritual battle is getting fiercer.  That is all the more reason for us to help each other rather than spew insults and attack each other as some people keep doing.

I was very blessed by your testimony.

Amen Aneki!

Beautiful story, thank you so much for sharing that wish us.  Alaha naterookh!

The power of Christ is so amazing it's indescribable.

:bigarmhug:

awww that was a nice story anki  :bigarmhug:

always have hope and He is always there no matter what

Thanks everyone for your words of encouragement and praise. I appreciate it and hope that you all to share in His love. What makes this story deeper for me is that I have always seen signs and always came up with excuses for them.

For instance, I smelled Bisma (incents) while waiting for a bus. Then I smelled it again while at the subway station. Keep in mind its windy and I was alone at the bus stop. There also wasn't a church around.

I also have had many dreams of me becoming a shamasha and once even a priest  I dismissed those as well. But a part of me now still wants to be more active and more involved within the church setting.

But let me tell you, those kabobs tasted great today :blush2: But I wouldn't change my experiances for a million kabobs thats for sure!

That's amazing to hear, praise God a million times!  There is nothing else in the world that can compare to a relationship with our Lord and Saviour.  Our Sweet, Sweet Jesus.  He is with you always till the end of time.  He promises so much and always delivers.  His promises are always yes, yes and AMEN!  Just know what you did now is Glorify Him with your body.  He made the invisible in you, visible.  Meaning He worked through you, and in turn you glorified Him.  It feels amazing, doesn't it?

hmmm yes

one- Repent and ask god for sincere Forgivness for all the things u have done in your life
two- Accept christ as your sole Savior

but that is just the beging of it see thats good thing but when you read other verses talking about knowing sin and then we get in more detail other that, you dont detail about the topic, you basically put the main purpose like if you were telling a child about sin and to repent but you dont give the whole detail to that child about knowing sin and triple your sins etc.

Man, you really must have had an amazing experience to even think of saying something like that.  I can't say that I have had anything like yours but on 3 occasions in my life when things had hit rock bottom for me, a miracle from "nowhere" saved me from self-destruction.  Only it was not from nowhere but from the Holy Spirit who was watching over me.  I won't get into the details but from these experiences, I can seen that He really exists and He is looking out for us.

Nice experience riza ... I am happy for you  :bigarmhug:

I can't help wondering... when you guys have those experiences how do you know it was Jesus you felt?

Sorry I don't want to ruin this post but how you know you felt Jesus?

I know a muslim girl who also had experienced something like that and she felt her prophet being in the room so I wonder how do you know who you feel? Could you tell me Riza what made it so clear that Jesus was there?

Hi Eanna, I know that the devil disguises himself as light.?

He disguises himself as an angel of light (2 Cor 11:12-15)

and

?Power?, ?Signs?, & ?False Wonders? can be performed by Satan (2 Thes 2:9-10)

It's very easy to think this spirit is good, but you must have the Holy Spirit in you and He tells you the difference.? If you don't, then someone can easily assume it's a good spirit.? But we are also told to test the spirits.

1 John:1 Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

The way you do this is found in the rest of the verse...

1 John 4:2This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, 3but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.

Hope that helps!

Haha.  You know because it's not in your power to know, but the Holy Spirit living inside you telling you.

Aziza with a beautiful girl like that wrapped around your neck you have no need to feel despair or hit rock bottom :giggle: But thank you for your kind words.

--------

How do I know it was Jesus and not the devil or mohammad? Faith. Thats the beauty of being a Christian its our faith. Visions like these have been a regular thing in my family. I'm just the most recent to view it (and the first to state it publicly outside the family circle). You just know.

The vision I saw was literally there and gone at a blink of an eye, yet I KNEW it was Jesus and my grandma. How? Faith. Gotta love it!

hahaha....dude at convention we'll talk more about the Syria deal

I REALLY look forward to meeting you at convention. I'll give you my phone number so you can call or txt me when you're there with someone elses phone  :giggle: that way I'll know where you are. Keep in mind if its a Chicago phone you're using, check and make sure it isn't longdistance to call mine. I dont want people to get mad at you :)

Can't wait to see you Younan :) Cheers!

Just like everybody else, that was a great story that gave me a lot of inspiration and alaha qabele somoukh khon :)
