How to write a Cover Letter? (Need help)

Hey Guys,

Im about to finish my studies and start applying for some start up jobs as student. I found a position by Proctor and Gamble. They want me to write an english CL. However I do not have much experince on writing such. I have done some for an Internships, but aint know how to write one for "a first job" after finishing studies.


So my question. Is there anyone that can help me, maybe send me in one of his CL that he/she wrote after finishing heir university studies.

I have one cover letter that i used to appy for jobs in Retail etc its not bad i willing to send it to u if u pm me ur email and you can get ideas from it or just use it if you happy from it and add some more off ur own qualification on it

Hey Rumtaya, I thought if you had one you could send it to me and I can take a look.

Last cover letter I did was in 2006, I will try to find it and send it to you.


But basically, it has to be about one page with two or three parts:

1st part: short intro about yourself and what you are applying for
2nd part: a little more information about your experience and education
3rd part: conclude and give them direction and instructions on how to get in touch with you


See, the thing about cover letters in today's busy world, if you do it the right way, some employers may skip the resume altogether and just contact you right away. On the other hand, if you do it poorly, they may skipt the resume and just send the whole thing to the recycle bin.

Here is a simple one, where the applicant gives enough information about himself without even having to open the resume:

Make sure your first paragraph is very catchy. Jyst like any other job, changes are a lot of people are up for the position so your cover letter is very important. If you'd like, feel free to send it to me and I'll look over it.

Thanks for that idea.

My problem is, Ive never written an CL for a job (but one for an internship...).

The thing is I am apllying for a logisitcs position at P&G here in germany (they want the CL in english).

Does anyone have a good suggestion how to write the text (complete).

my infos:

Im just about to finish my studies, I have done few internships here and there, Ive had a project in my logistics studies..

If anyone could wirte here how to start...like a few begining sentences it would be very helpful...
