Hog's Breath Restaurant, Carmel, California

This restaurant is located in the Eastwood Building and was once owned by Clint Eastwood.  It has a lot of his touches everywhere -- photos of him, a very western feel, and no-nonsense food.  In a foodie town like Carmel which specializes in amazing California cuisine, Hog's Breath is a rarity.  No arugula or avocado aiolli here!  This is straight up comfort food.  So while I would encourage visitors to the Carmel region to take advantage of the many restaurants that offer great local fare that this area is famous for, I would still highly recommend a visit here.  First of all, the restaurant itself is just beautiful.  We were seated in the patio, right by one of several fireplaces.  It was really nice to sit back and enjoy the sea breeze right by the fire.  The service was good, the portions generous, and the prices reasonable.  While the menu offerings are a little unremarkable, the food itself was very tasty.  Definitely worth a visit.

Honestly, I wonder why it was named as so. But as I did some research and read some reviews about it, it came to my mind that everything here is perfect. The location is good; the ambiance is very friendly; the staffs are well trained and even the foods are very palatable. I know I will be here one time as I visit California next month.
