Historic and devastating flash floods in Nohadra, Iraq

The pictures and videos I am seeing from the flash floods in Northern Iraq, especially the Nohadra and surrounding regions are devastating. And I just saw this picture of Gishra D’Dalale, almost completely flooded and there are reports it may collapse which would be an epic historical loss for Iraq.

Shocking, but in a way they need that rain (for water). That region is too dry.

Actually, you make a good point! Both Tigris and Euphrates need as much water as possible, as some areas of the two rivers have completely dried, mostly thanks to Turkey and Iran building dams and denying Iraq water from their own rivers!

Only issue here is - and while the two rivers will take advantage of this excessive rain - it is also leading to so much destruction and death.

BTW, as you may probably know, the whole region (middle eat in general) often experience these deadly flash floods.
