hebrew....hmmm?????

Since there are no Aramaic classes in sight for me, I was thinking the next best way to learn Surat would be to take Hebrew Classes at my school.  And after I got the basics down I can try learning Aramaic online from various websites...I'm saying Hebrew would be the next best thing because the language is so close to our language....anyways, your opinions?  what do you think of this? Is this the best way?

I was shocked when I first saw the Hebrew alphabet, it looks and sounded almost exactly like ours.  I don't how much this would help in terms of learning our language.  I think the guys that post in the Learn Assyrian forum -- tambur and carlo in particular -- are really great with language-related questions.  I'm sure they'd know.

well i kno how to speak surat of course....i just never learned to read or write it...I am ashamed of the fact that i'm illiterate in my own native language, i kno taking hebrew is a desperate move on my part...but what else can i do? :bangin:
 
I am sure if you go to any Assyrian church close to you they can help you, cause most of our churches they have classes to teach how to write and read Assyrian language.


and it's always good to know more than one language  :)

We just started having Assyrian language classes at our Church and it really DOES help ..

:clap: great!! i am sure all Assyrian churchs they teach Assyrians language and for free, not like other churches they have to pay for teaching different language.
