Would like to wish you all, a very happy new year. I know our friends in Australia are already few hours into the new year, while here in Canada, we are still over 6 hours away.

Whatever your goals, desires and wishes, I hope you accomplish and get to them all. Go for it!

Thanks man!

Man, that would be awesome! Can you imagine a group with the following : Brazil - Canada - Australia - Iraq
Of course, given the brackets, this will never happy, since we need another African and European country. But I would still be happy if 3 of 4 of these were in the same group.

You and Bani, and maybe others from Australia, should start thinking about this trip from now, especially if it will indeed be in Toronto.

Happy New year to the 2 of you. You realise we have known each other since the 90s? Very long time.

Where did Time go? Can't believe its been 25 years already!

Sadly, I have lost touch with all of the Aussie Crew... Even my Close buddy Salem, have not Spoken to him in 10 years! and many many more!

It would be so Awesome if some of us can make it. I am already planning mine and i am sure Bani wouldn't hesitate to come as well!

You know what you need to get AVN back in action? We need a Massive AVN Gathering & Party. The same Gatherings we used to have back in NOL Days. This will bring back lots of people Or at least it will give us a chance to Meet & re-live all the fun times! What you think?

Only takes 1 phone call.

I still keep in touch with SydneyDude and JohnSydney (ironically he now lives in Melbourne) but it is tough to maintain a real relationship when you live so far away. Darwin feels more like a southern Asian city than a northern Australian city, due to it being cheaper to fly to Bali and Singapore than to the southern states.

Believe it or not, after 3 World Cups (and 2 FIFA Club World Cups and a Futsal World Cup and an Under 20s World Cup not to mention World Cup qualifiers), I have retired from traveling to watch the Socceroos play. I was there last time the USA hosted the World Cup. I would have been tempted if it were somewhere else. Having said this, the last time I travelled to an away qualifier, I met the lady of my dreams. Australia lost 2-0 to Japan and I was disgusted with the way the Aussie fans were behaving, but the day after the match was a different story. This lady and I have gotten more serious in recent times but with distance and money being an issue, we will wait and see if there is a future. And, no, she is neither Japanese nor Australian.

As you all know, I went to Germany2006 and that trip was full of highlights but one of the biggest one was my 3 night trip to Amsterdam to the AVN get-together. The Dutch Assyrians were joined by me, 2 boys from England and one girl from Norway. Honestly, it was the best weekend and allowed me to really get to know the European crew. If there is a crew going to the World Cup from Australia or Europe, seriously, don't waste the opportunity and make time for an event like a AVN get-together.

Several of the NOL get-togethers were organised by noneother than myself back in the late 90s. If I organise one again, it will be in Darwin :)
