I would like to say Happy Memorial day. I would like to use this memorial day to remember all the Assyrians who fought and died in times of conflicts through history, from the Assyrians defending Urmia from the grip of Ottoman and Kurdish soldiers, to World War 2 when we defending Habaniyah from pro-Nazi Arab rebels and fighting on the side of the U.S. to the Iran-Iraq war which totaled 80,000 Assyrian deaths from both nations, to the modern Iraq war in which Assyrian-American soldiers have fought and died for, and for the Assyrians martyrs through history who gave up their lives for us in the face of Islam.
