It's offside because there was only one defender between the Mexican player and the goal.  If the goalie had stayed in the net next to the defender, it would've counted.

Yeah, but the ball was already near the goal when that goalie dude decided to jump out of the box.

If the attacker passes the ball to another attacker, and there is only one defender between the attacker receiving the ball and the goal, then it's offside.

The defender becomes irrelevant when he is behind the goalkeeper.
