This is the first game of the world cup, and you know both will be nervous and excited at the same time.

My Prediction: 2-2

I know South Africa is not a good team (especially compared to the other African teams) but the home and crowd factor has to be figured into it. Mexico has never played in such a crazy atmosphere, so they will need some adjustment.

I am taking half the day off to watch the first Brazil game.

Yes it was offside, they didn't count it. South Africa scored first after that and than Mexico.

The rule indicates the goalkeeper must be front of you as well. So the goalkeeper + 1 defender = onside. Only the goalkeeper = offside. Only one defender = offside. Brilliant call by the linesman.

I didn't know about this either until my co worker explained it to me. I just though they called it offside at first because they wanted the host country to win. lol
