A great day! Dr. Tyari Johnson, previously a priest, has been appointed the newest bishop for the Assyrian Church of the East. Mar Apris will serve the Eparchy in Arbil and also as assistant to Mar Giwargis Slewa , the patriarch of the ACOE!

Watch this video of this great celebration, no better way to do it than this Assyrian way, with music, khiga, traditional clothing and more.

Congratulations to the newest and youngest Assyrian bishop: his holiness is only 39 years old, having been born in 1978.
